While this is a less expensive option, it emits a great deal of noise especially in a small room. If it weren't such a hassle and drain on the planet, we would return. It cools our room fine (300 square feet) and was easy to assemble. But it is in my office and I must turn off to answer the phone. It is a background hum, but loud. So much for, you get what you pay for. Otherwise fine.
