I just got the phone, which had a US AT&T cell number registered to it…and for the past two days, I’ve been unable to transfer or add my eSIM to the phone. I brought it to my local network provider today and they were unable to activate it or connect it to a new eSIM.
I will now have to find a way to return it to Amazon because I live outside the US. This is highly inconvenient and I fear it may happen if I try to purchase another one. I’m thinking the phone must be locked

Updated: I took the phone to a phone expert over two separate days, who confirmed the phone was infact unlocked, but still cannot identify what prevented the phone from accepting the new sims. I’ve since gotten the new eSIMs attached, so I did not return the phone. Ultimately, this still left me on edge and made me anxious for a bit longer than necessary. The phone works very well now
