Update: I am returning these as the right ear bud no longer works. After having them for about a month, they would no longer turn off or disconnect when placed back into the charging case, but they still charged and were usable. Then the right one stopped working altogether. They never really worked good from the start; they would cut out frequently even when right next to the phone they were connected too. That along with the issues with sound quality that I mentioned in my original review the day I got them make them nowhere near worth the price. I should have returned them immediately but I had hoped the sound quality would be the only issue, and I do like the size, fit, and look of them, so I kept them. That was a mistake.
Original review:
I ordered these instead of re-ordering my cheaper earbuds that I lost, because most of the reviews said the bass quality is very good and the rest is decent, and my old ones only came in black. The reviews giving high marks for bass are not at all accurate in my opinion. I was so disappointed when I listened to my first few songs with these. There's practically no bass at all - sounds slightly better than a tin can.
Now for the good- I like the size, because I have difficulty holding on to small things and the fit of these feels good to me, compare to smaller ones. But that's more down to personal preference, and not really a quality issue.
They were very simple to set up and pair: just remove right ear bud from case, and there will be 2 JBL options that show up when scanning, so if first one doesn't work, select the second because they should pair without needing a pin or code.
I like the color options, but again, more down to preference.
I don't know about battery life yet as I just received them an hour ago and was so disappointed with the sound, that I am considering returning them, and wanted to review right away.
Overall, if these were closer to the $30-40 range, I wouldn't be so disappointed, although I still would not be happy with the sound. But for nearly $70 I feel I got ripped off and mislead by other reviews that boasted the excellent bass and sound. My previous ear buds (set of Cowen Apex ear buds) were around $50 and the sound was 10+ times better.
