I'm have been using this product as a facial cleanser for two months, especially because it boasts a high MGO, which is thought to help keep the bacteria that cause acne at bay. For me, it works at least as effectively as Proactiv, when I was taking it. At times, I think it has a bit of an edge over Proactiv. I like the idea that my face is gaining nutrients from my cleanser, so to speak. It has a very mild grittiness to it that seems to work as a mild exfoliant. It has the consistency and color of melted caramel to me and smells medicinal, yet sweet. It is easy to wash off. If I were to attempt to quantify how well it clears up my face, I'd say it doesn't clear up my face 100%, but does so about 80%. Also, it can be slightly drying if I leave it on too long (around 10 minutes). A single jar seems to last me about 2-3 months. I know everyone's face can react differently, but I'm happy enough with the product that I'm buying another jar.
