I’ve had series 3 for 6 years, so I decided to upgrade it with this one. If the weight is your concern don’t worry, it’s 10 grams heavier than my S3. One of the reasons I got this one is to future proof it and protect the screen from scratches. Titanium edges really protect the glass from the bumps. Overall, it’s an excellent device. S9 does the same, but I wanted to get something different. I always forget that I wear it, super comfy and cool great looking watch.

I got the Ultra because I use it for maps and directions when I'm in a new city or country. I don't have to pull out my phone and look like a tourist. Battery life is excellent lasting a at least a few days and the large face means I can add a lot of complications easily. I can quickly see the temperature, time, date, new messages, have it locate the nearest public transit and mark a waypoint so I can easily get back to my starting location.

My dad is in his late 70s, and gets more and more difficult to shop for with each passing year. I purchased this as a birthday gift for him to replace an Apple Watch that was a few years old. At first he asked, “Why did you buy this? I already have an Apple Watch.”

After a few days he was pleasantly surprised with its performance, and appreciated the upgrade. One of the best selling features for him was the longevity of the battery life. His older watch (I think it was a model 6 or 7) needed to be charged every single day. He typically gets a few days of wear with this watch before he has to charge it again. He also appreciate the sleep tracking, and other health data.

What a letdown! I enjoy shopping on Amazon, and I recently ordered the new Apple Watch Ultra 2. While the watch arrived punctually, it came with the wrong band. I had to debate with Amazon's customer service to send me the right band instead of returning the whole watch. When I finally received the correct band, it turned out to be faulty. The velcro is coming off the strap. After this frustrating experience, I've decided not to buy Apple products from Amazon anymore. Either the wrong items are sent, or they're defective.
