This bag was great for a recent trip to Hawaii where we used it on road to Hana and the beach to protect from water and sand, and it held up to the task. I also tested it the week before we left by submerging it in the bathtub.
I also kept my phone in the compartment and using touch screen was very easy.
However, the seal on the top of the bag and the phone compartment is so tough that I had to have my husband do it for me. I wouldn’t have been able to close it by myself and I’m 30 - so do with that what you will!

I love to go to the beach & swim. However, when there is no one to leave your valuables with, I don't feel comfortable leaving them unsecured on the beach or by the pool. Our phones can be ruined in the water. I was so happy to find the Pelican Marine Waterproof Dry Bag 3 L. It does state that 30 min. submerged is safe. The good thing is that the air that stays in the bag upon closure causes it to float when slung over my back that then means it is not "submerged" & can stay dry longer. It held everything I needed (phone, small wallet, keys) without being bulky. The clear window allows you to still use the phone. The roll top adds that extra degree of safety. I now have Peace of Mind to truly enjoy the water.

I bought this for my daughter it has takin her a hour or so to try to seal the inside zipper. After wearing off all of her fingerprints and me starting to write this review she was finally able to zip the inner zipper. Besides that issue seams like it will work well at the beach!
