Surprisingly, the phone screen has not been scratched or marred since I bought this well over a year ago. I mention this for two reasons: one, I'm really hard on everything I own (eg, I've dropped this phone a dozen times and I take it with me while working in the yard); two, this particular model does not cover the face plate of your phone as most phone protectors do, and yet not a scratch. (Maybe the phone manufacturer deserves some credit here).

Well. It's heavy, clunky, and ugly. But if you're here because you are incessantly dropping your phone, this is what you need. I have intermittent hand tremors and grip problems and cannot compromise on a case that will save my phone from my own failures as a human machine.

It absolutely 100% will protect your phone. I have dropped mine down stairs in this thing already and it was fine. I have dropped my phone every day since I got this case and it's still unscathed. You'd have to get unlucky and bang the corner of something right on the screen to hurt it, I think, but at that point no case would save it. Also, it's fun to fill up the back with stickers/stuff that you can swap out which takes the edge off how ugly it is. The textured sides/corners are a nice bonus if you have grip problems like me which makes me think it'd be a good choice for people with hand weakness of any kind--a thoughtful accessibility feature for a case clearly designed for people who drop their phone constantly.

Unfortunately, it does have some downsides despite my rating. Primarily, the built in screen protector dramatically reduces touch functionality, especially if you're like me and layer it over a glass screen protector. Typing becomes a huge struggle, and there is a subtle moire pattern to it that is annoying in certain lights. I am thinking about cutting it away entirely since it's not really adding any protection for anything but fingerprints, but I'm not sure if it will hurt the structural integrity of the case by doing so. The protector is a thin, flimsy plastic and not designed to take a beating at all--the raised and rounded corners are doing that instead, hopefully preventing screen contact from happening at all in the event of a drop.

It comes apart and goes together easy. There's no protection over the camera lenses but they are inset into a cushioned, beveled back so there's some bumper over them. I prefer this as it means there's not moisture or dirt getting annoyingly trapped over the lens, as is the case with some bumper cases that have a lens cover. The smooth and untextured back accepts phone grip adhesive readily (a problem I've had with other bumper cases which tend to have textured backs). There's room to add a loop for a charm/wristlet strap if you prefer to carry your phone that way and once it's on it feels secure and not like it'll increase the likelihood of the case suddenly falling open. There is no plug over the charging socket so it won't be keeping any dust out, and the case is thick and inset enough that a very short/L-shaped charger connector might not work--you'll want a regular straight one or it won't go all the way down into the phone.

Some other reviews mention problems with the volume buttons in this case but I haven't experienced this at all. They're just as responsive as if there was no case at all, and the power button is in a fully recessed area so you're pressing it directly.

Does the job. Wish it was less ugly/came in cuter colors and that the flimsy plastic over the screen was more touch-responsive or just left out entirely in favor of a separate glass protector. But from an accessibility/special needs standpoint, absolutely great case.

This has been by far one of the best and most durable phone cases I've ever purchased.
Worth every penny.
I've dropped my phone and unintentionally smashed it into inanimate objects numerous times and it's saved my phone from any damages. One time i accidentally dropped my phone from 12' and miraculously the phone was perfectly fine (can't say the same about the case) the case just sustained a small crack, but w/o it the phone wouldn't had survived the impact.
