    I went through the set up carefully and confirmed all my data was backed up on the disk. When I checked it again 2 months later, it was not visible in File Explorer. I went through the trouble shooting and in Device Manager, I found the disk was "not initialized."A back up drive that does not work reliably is worse than no back up drive at all.Seagate support thought it was probably a bad read head based on the description. They were willing to replace it, but I was not willing to mail the old one to them since I could not erase the data on there.

    I read all the reviews and ordered it because Seagate drives have been very reliable for me in the past. I was leery because a lot of the reviews said it was difficult to set up and that there were no instructions. I connected it to my USB port, and up popped the file names that were installed on the unit, and I chose the file for Windows, launched it and a screen came up telling me that I could choose to drag and drop my files to the unit or do a scheduled backup. I dragged my files over and they copied to the backup perfectly with no issues. I viewed them once backed up and they were all there. Easy peasy. Definitely recommend!

    The (800) number answers Overseas, Their support is USELESS.

    each having different ideas how to get it to work.
    The ENGLISH was HORRIBLE.

    Google says: Since 2010, the company has been incorporated in Dublin, Ireland,
    with operational headquarters in Fremont, California, United States.
    BUT they will NOT answer in the USA

    There was "NO" instructions included with Unit and On Line Support is also USELESS.
    The Return period has Expired and I have NO Back Up for my computer.

    Now I have a USELESS Paper weight.

    I like the portability. However, it has McAfee (Security) and you have to be careful as if you click on 'do you want this app to make changes' it will change your operating system and I have to constantly reset my OS as soon as it finishes uploading. Also, not all files can be backed up. I guess in my case these files are password protected. I am not a techy person but do my best to program the back up files as often as I can.
