    Hello,

    I was an a religious iPhone user until the iPhone 6 -- which contrary to spin by iFans -- was complete trash. I had to reinstall the OS several times until I found the hidden issue with that phone: 1 measly GB of RAM. That was when I decided to give Android a try.

    That was the OnePlus 3 for $399. It was twice the phone at half the price. 3 times the RAM, twice the storage, and I had an Amoled screen long before crApple offered one. I never looked back. I jumped to the OnePlus 6T and had an under screen fingerprint reader and tiny notch before anyone else.

    All was smooth sailing until I traded that with T-Mobile for a OnePlus 9. It claimed to have a far better camera but shipped with crappy camera software. Worse -- there's something about the SnapDragon 888 paired with 5G that makes the phone UNUSABLE in summer climates almost everywhere.

    Let me be clear: all phones can and will overheat in certain situations. The OnePlus 9 overheated in almost any situation. I had only owned that heavy piece of garbage for 3 months before I sent it off to eBay.

    So now that I've had a taste of solid Chinese 'direct' phones -- would I finally be able to try a Xiaomi phone? I bought a Redmi Note 7 for a niece and a Redmi Note 8 for a pal -- but I never bought one for me.

    There's a reason to hesitate. No, none of that Chinese propaganda nonsense Trump was spreading. It's because phones need to be supported by your carrier (Verizon, T-Mobile, ATT). Just because you like a phone doesn't mean it supports the bands (channels) your carrier offers. Some phones look great on paper but support very few carrier channels meaning you'll be the King of Dropped Calls.

    So you have to do research at Kimovil (dot)(commy) to verify any import phone like this and make sure you like the bands it supports. Luckily I've already done that for you and will tell you this Xiaomi phone supports most of T-Mobile's 4G offerings. Other Xiaomi phones typically support less and I'd tell you to avoid them.

    This Mi 11 Lite does not support 5G. The 5G variant only supports one 5G band (out of 4). So why did I get THIS phone at a T-Mobile user? Well, ask yourself this: do I really need 5G? If yes, there's a Mi 11 Lite 5G to get (for a little more money) but again it doesn't fully support 5G. And so why get a phone that might run hotter for a feature you may not even need?

    You see I'm not a phone nut. I just want an affordable phone that works good overall. I'm not a gamer. I'm not a videographer. If you're like me you want a reasonably priced phone that takes good photos, with a nice screen, all day battery life, and is fast enough. THIS PHONE DELIVERS ON ALL THESE FRONTS and gets pretty impressive 4G support in the Los Angeles area.

    An added bonus is that this phone is LITE in weight too. Holding my OnePlus 9 was like picking up a beer mug. This phone is so light you may fear it's hollow. I'm not kidding.

    The only shortcoming on this phone is the software. Xiaomi has a way of releasing so many phones that their software updates are lacking. THIS PHONE CURRENTLY DOES NOT SUPPORT 'HEY GOOGLE' IF YOUR PHONE IS ASLEEP. I'm sure they'll claim otherwise (as all phone makers love to make 'you' the problem) but it simply doesn't work on my phone or my wife's phone. Maybe they'll fix it, maybe not.

    Still, at this price, you next to nothing to lose. Amazon offers free returns. You have nothing to lose by trying this phone. So try it.
