I bought a Pixel 5 for $699 here on Amazon. I added the plan, because who hasn't busted a phone?I dropped the phone and cracked the screen.I checked the terms - $39 to repair / $99 to replace, reasonable enough.I went to file a claim, but the form said the info was incorrect (it was not) so I initiated a chat. The nice rep verified the info (see, it was correct) and asked for $99, which I expected for replacement, so I obliged. The nice rep processed my card and then asked me to take the phone to a repair shop... What??I informed the nice rep that $99 was for replacement and $39 was for repair, and asked why he charged me $99.The nice rep said 'The system made me do it!' (He put in the info and this is what it told him, he had no other options).I asked for the claim to be canceled ($99 for the privilege of going to a store for a cracked screen?) and the nice rep obliged.I explained I would NEVER buy Asurion plans again. He understood.I looked in my past orders and noticed I've paid for 8 plans on various products and, until now, have not needed to test out Asurion. I was able to refund the very last one I bought, but it was for a smaller item so like $15 back. For the record, I will never buy another Asurion plan.

I had my doubts. I was given incorrect information and had to call back several times, however the last 2 people I spoke to made things right. Good Customer Service is hard to find so when I actually receive Good Customer Service it is appreciated. Given they are providing insurance coverage when their is an issue that is important. Thank You

The email came quickly. In my case it ended up in the spam folder, so look there before you ask them to resend.

Haven’t had to use yet, but seems great.

For starters, the actual customer service was awful and the people on the phone have the wrong advice multiple times. I had to get people in the Asurion store to call the service line to get it resolved. In all, it took 4 weeks, 6 phone calls with Asurion, and 3 trips to an Asurion store to finally get the claim going.

After all of that, they can't repair a screen with a single pixel issue, so the whole phone has to replaced. If you bought the phone on sale, it's even more of a scam.

It's $200 for the insurance so I can spend $130 to get 80% of the replacement cost of the phone. You end up spending so much more for this insurance if you ever have to use it.

We've learned our lesson - we'll stick with the service provider insurance. It's not great by any means but so much better than this service.
