I called to cancel. Amazon rep said he couldnt cancel. I had to contact Asurion directly- that was the beginning of the nightmare!
First, try finding a # to call to speak with someone.
Hours and days with more hours to speak with several people along the way- still not canceled, for real, not canceled. Finally, again more people and hours later, I thought it was almost done... Asurion person needed to confirm w/ Amazon to end it... she put me on hold, she came back... it wasnt her! It was an Amazon Cust Ser Rep with no clue- a regular cold call for him. Once again, for me the 8, or 9th time starting from beginning. I truly thought it was finally over..assured it was...nope. I checked back 2 days later, still not canceled. Called again...asked for a supervisor, a long wait. He checked, said it did get canceled, but because it was a warranty, you had to click on the screen, to see order to see it was finally done. Honestly, I've forgotten where to click, now, but the regular customer reps I dealt with didnt know about this "trick" either! I would have to look around again, or ask an experienced supervisor.
Overall: This took several hours over days of repeating myself and not getting the plan canceled, until it truly was, several days later from when I started!
If at all possible, I will never use Asurion again. I do not and will not ever recommend the company, and never their customer service. I endured multiple phone calls, with different people, extremely long waits on hold and still not able to connect to someone who could actually finish the job, and provide proof it was done. For real. I do not wish this on anyone's time. Avoid Asurion if possible.
Long story short - I'm been paying my monthly Asurion subscription and now that I've filed a claim they not are processing it. Everytime I call they tell me it will be processed in 24 to 72 hours. Today was my 3rd call and again they said in another 24 to 72 hours! Then I called Amazon to get help and file a complaint but Amazon says its out their hands and for me to call Asurion back....I reminded Amazon that Asurion is their appointed vendor and their services were offered by Amazon at the time of purchase. As a result my account will be monitored and Amazon sent me a link to file an official complaint against Asurion but Amazon will not communicate with Asurion directly regarding my claim. So frustrating.
The phone I ordered was canceled by the seller so I no longer needed the protection plan (I bought a different phone and protection plan from the cell phone site). After a week bouncing between Amazon and Asurion, no one could figure out how to cancel. There was no option on the Amazon order to cancel. However, when I reviewed my email from Amazon "welcoming me" to the Asurion protection plan, I found instructions and a link where I could quickly and easily cancel it. I received a confirmation of the cancellation and the plan dropped off of my "subscription" list, leaving just the Prime membership. Now I am waiting for the refund for first month which was charged during the order process which takes up to 3 days). Asurion and Amazon need to have an in-service with their customer service agents to enlighten them on this process. Many of the reviews here are due to difficulty cancelling.
