Great containers, poor packaging
These containers are great IF you can manage to get them delivered not cracked and broken. They are just put loose on a box, no bubble wrap or any sort of packaging inside to prevent breakage. Not even a snug fit box, so they bounce around and ultimately get broken in transit. Can the shoppers fix this problem?

These are amazing storage bins. They have revolutionized how I store things because they are truly airtight and keep out moisture and pests thanks to the foam seal and clamps. I love them. But occasionally you can get a bad batch, so it's important to inspect them when they arrive. Recently I received some that had small cracks in various places and the plastic "hinges" that hold the black clamps in place were broken/not fully formed or the holes were not punched through all the way so the clamps wouldn't stay in place (which means you can't seal the bin shut). I have also received ones with clamps missing. I don't think these are shipping damage but rather quality control issues. Most of the bins I've ordered have been in perfect condition but some have been defective -- maybe 25% of the time -- and I've returned them. So just double check -- and IRIS maybe work on your quality control! But amazing product when they aren't defective or damaged. Also know that the wheel bed on the 103 quart bins with wheels are weak points. I had a few that cracked after a year or so. Granted they were full and we stacked them so there was a lot of weight on the bottom ones. So if you get those, maybe don't stack them. Also sometimes the foam liner comes out -- would be great if these were glued into the top. But you could easily get some double-sided tape and tape them in or glue them yourself.

I’ve bought this twice. Store my ornaments in them. Wanted something I could see in but helps protect against water damage. The containers are strong too. One handle broke, but I think it was my fault. Still gets a great seal from possible water damage. Had something in the past that got water damage when a pipe leaked in a wall. Can use these storage bins for just about anything, very versatile. Like the way the look when staked.

This company needs a packaging engineer. The bins appear to be sturdy and water proof enough for the price but they used a brittle plastic that does not travel well. They were placed into a box with nothing to prevent breakage. One lid arrived broken and it would have been easy enough just to replace the one lid. This was not provided as an option so I had to pack it all back into the box, trek to the UPS store, and send it back. What a waste of time and energy.

Out of 30 boxes w/ 6 handles each, I had 4 broken handles. Not a huge percentage, but broken isn't new. Also, returns aren't practical when you have to return a carton of 2 or 4 boxes for just one handle.

by the time this item arrived, two lids were broken.

i cannot tell if it was the shipper's fault or the distributor's fault [my experience says that it is the shipper's fault].

the lids are not broken in such a way as they are ruined; i can still use them, and they will still seal, so i won't be returning them.

overall, seems like a great product, and cost-effective is paramount for me. :)

I ordered two sets of the 97.5 L boxes (4 boxes in total) and received them last night around 7:30 EST. I found one of the latches was damaged upon opening the boxes and I immediately requested a replacement from Amazon. I took the box with the damaged latch to the Post Office this morning and the replacement box has just arrived less than 24 hours after my replacement request. Highly recommend this product.
