Honestly, I'm quite skeptical of extended warranties, seeing them as mostly a rip off. I was pleasantly surprised with Asurion. I simply went to my Amazon orders where I purchased it and followed the directions to print off a prepaid label. When I mailed it in, I sort of thought it might take a month. Instead, I mailed in on Monday morning and by Wednesday afternoon when I got home from work, there was my computer in working condition. I was pretty stunned. I'm still not sure about most extended warranties, but my experience with Asurion has sold me on theirs. They did what they said they would so; they gave me what I paid for.

I have always been skeptical of warranty plans, generally consider them to be a scam, but I have changed my mind. The reason I started buying Asurion protection plans is that they cover accidental screen breakage on tablet computers. This is very real possibility.

A year ago I broke the screen of my tablet and they replaced it promptly. Because of that experience I started buying their plans for most of my eligible Amazon purchases. Coffee maker, Air fryer, 3 tablets, etc.

The display on this Chuwi tablet failed after 5 months, still within the manufacturers warranty. I contacted Asurion first they told me that the manufacturers warranty is the first line of coverage, logical.

I contacted Chuwi (not a simple task that took 2 weeks to get an answer, but that is another story). Chuwi told me I had to ship the unit to Hong Kong at my expense for repair and it would require 2 to 3 months. Basically a useless warranty. I contacted Asurion and they agreed to repair the unit at no cost, not even shipping, with an expected 2 to 3 day turnaround. Great!

Two days after sending the unit to the repair center Assurion emailed me that the unit was not repairable and sent me an Amazon gift card for the full purchase price. This was above and what was required by the letter of the agreement. I replaced the unit and purchased an Assurion plan.

I strongly recommend these plans.

My son’s iPad mini was accidentally damaged to the point of no repair. They provided the shipping label and filing the claim was super easy. The next day I received an e-gift card for the purchase price of the product. Can’t say enough, so happy with this policy. This was the exact reason I purchased it, cause well, kids.

My iPad died on a Tuesday. Wednesday I found this iPad that was refurbished. I ordered it and it was delivered in 3 days. It fired up after charging and was easy to get all items from iCloud. I am using it daily!

If you like paying half the price of the product in hidden service fees then this warranty is for you. Never again. I learned my lesson. GARBAGE
