3 inches sounds small, but this topper is just thick enough to cushion the body without sinking through to the mattress underneath. Purchased to alleviate arm/shoulder pain from sleeping on a very firm mattress and so far, this topper has been doing its job. It's true that it feels warmer to sleep on the topper than on a regular mattress but this was not a concern or issue for me. It was easy to unpack and was ready to sleep on right away. Will update this review is anything changes, but at this point this topper has been well worth the steep price.

After about 2 hours, it was fully expanded and oh my goodness, what in improvement in my sleep comfort! This is a truly fantastic product! It's very rare for me to be so "over the moon" about a product but this one merits it!

And the manufacturer tag attached to cover shows date of manufacture about 6 weeks prior to my receiving it. This is important if the 25 year warranty and expected life usefulness are to be realized.

First day after delivering cold, the rise of the topper with cover only reaches 2 and 3/4 inches. I don't feel slighted because my research was pointing me to a 2 inch topper when looking at latex. I decided on Temper-Pedic because those sellers were saying latex toppers may only last 6 years.

I've bought Visco-elastic toppers before that only lasted a year before losing their elasticity and feeling very uncomfortable. I've also heard that this manufacturer is superior with longevity so I'll take my chances. At this reduced price for Christmas and New Year's, the risk is minimized.

I've laid on this twice today for feel and found it comfortable despite my spinal ailments. Too soon to day pressure relieving; it may take weeks to adjust. I may update this over time but outlook appears to meet or exceed expectations. I'll buy more if that is true.

Squish squish. You'd have to be 100 pounds to consider this Tempurpedic topper to be medium firm. I bought the 3" hoping it would help my sagging mattress. NOPE! It's like being stuck in quicksand. Every movement sucks you in deeper. After countless hours reading mattress articles and watching videos, I decided to try latex instead. For about the same money, I ordered a 3" medium firm latex topper to put on top of my mattress and it's really helped. I am a 230 lb side sleeper with sciatica. It's almost like sleeping on a new bed. I also put an old (fairly thin) bed pillow between my mattress and box spring and that's also helped with the sag where my butt normally rests lol. Do yourself a favor and read up on latex toppers/mattresses. I am convinced that I will never again buy anything other than latex to sleep on. It's longer lasting and more comfortable than any kind of foam. Sleep Essentials and Ken Hightower both have very good YouTube videos for ppl who are thinking about DIY mattresses and latex. I've had a latex topper on top of my 5 yr old sagging Sealy Posturpedic for a few days now and it's worked pretty well, but I think long term I'm going to do mattress surgery. The only thing that is going to fix a sag permanently is to start with a level playing field, so I'll probably rip the top off my mattress, tear out the disintegrated gel and memory foam top layers, and put my latex topper directly on top of my innerspring/coils. I may need to buy another 3" firm latex topper for the support layer, so that I would have springs then 3" firm Dunlop latex topper then 3" medium latex topper then mattress cover. Hopefully I can just get away with the 3" medium on coils but I am doubtful that will be enough comfort because of my weight. We'll see. No one is paying me to review. I don't usually write reviews unless I feel strongly about something. I just hope this helps someone else!

I ordered a CalKing in this model to top a mattress over 20+ years old and to replace a feather tick topper I had. Wow. What a difference this topper makes. The numbness and tingling I used to sometimes get in my hands is gone. The lower back aches and sporadic sciatica is also gone. I've been sleeping on it about 7 weeks now and love everything about it. Tiny box, even for CalKing but it was heavy. The topper was wrapped in saran wrap type wrapping. I carefully cut it out and it sprang open and bounced right into shape pretty much immediately. It fits my mattress almost exactly and stays were it should be. It's slightly warm but I'm in Maine so that's a plus.
