Saved my phone - just bought again

I installed one of these on my phone and my husband's phone a year ago. The application template is genius, made it super easy, no air bubbles, no problems at all. The usual mild annoyance of feeling the edges but I have a case on my phone anyway so no big deal. Other than that, basically forgot about it.

UNTIL TODAY. Went roller skating and had my phone and a credit card in my back pocket. Toddler ran in front of me and I wiped out trying to avoid him. Didn't give my phone a thought until I went to use it a half hour later and noticed cracks all over. Kept my fingers crossed that they were just in the screen protector until I got home and gingerly lifted it off.... phone is completely undamaged!!

So - this screen protector survived a year of typical abuse (I have butter fingers and drop my phone *all* the time) and absorbed all the damage from a more serious shock, AND it came with a genius applicator and didn't have any negative impact on my use of the phone at all. Five stars. Just bought another pack.

Screen protectors have come a long way

I tried a variety of screen protectors about 8-10 years ago, but I didn't like the way they looked, felt, or how finnicky they were to install, so I gave up on them altogether. Flash forward to now: I purchased a Pixel 5 and I figured I'd try to protect it a little better than I did with my last phone.

I assume there are still junk screen protectors out there, but wow, this one is completely different than what I experienced a decade ago. The installation was a million times easier with the guide tool, the screen doesn't have that weird shimmer or filmy look to it, and it has a very satisfying feel when tapping or swiping around. I'm really, really impressed by it so far.

The bad: the edges of the protector are a teeny bit unsightly and reflected light seems slightly harsher than the naked Pixel screen. However, these are big time nitpicks, and the issues are not pronounced at all.

What I'll be looking out for: the long term durability of the adhesive and the robustness of the protector to maintain a pleasant appearance/feel if it gets scratched or dinged.

I hardly ever write reviews, but thought I'd drop one for this purchase. I've only had the protector on for a couple hours, but I feel comfortable giving a positive review. If anything changes I'll give an update. One of the upsides here (if the protector fails in any way) is that Spigen provides a second protector, which is a nice peace of mind.

I got a new Pixel 5 and ordered this screen protector along with the Spigen case. In spite of some of the earlier reviews, I see no issues with the screen protector fitting nicely on the screen. Yes, there is a small margin (1-2mm?) to accommodate the curved bezel on this phone. However, I do not notice any of the blurring or functionality issues mentioned by some other reviewers. There are no bubbles, lifting edges, hazy pixels, etc. It looks terrific. It is exceedingly easy to apply the protector using the AlignMaster. I mean like 10 seconds easy, and it is perfectly aligned and no dust or bubbles or wrinkles. For the first time in my life I think I will be able to save the second protector that comes in this 2 pack for future use instead of using it immediately because I screwed up the first application so badly :-p The Spigen Liquid Air Armour case fits perfectly, and there is no interference with the case edges and the screen protector edges that would cause the protector to eventually peel up along the edge. I'm very happy with this product overall.

Excellent screen protectors but slightly small

I just installed one of these on my pixel 5 earlier today and it was an easy process, I got a lint free application on the first try and it took about 15 minutes. The included application tools worked well and the screen protector seems good. It is very clear and does not seem to effect the sensitivity of my phone screen.
The only issue that I have is that the protector is slightly smaller then the screen almost exactly the same size as the lighted part of the screen, so I can see a narrow band of distortion on both sides of the screen where the edges of the screen protector act as a prism. I see why they did not make the protector cover the whole screen as the pixel 5 screen curves slightly at the edges so if the screen protector went all of the way to the edge it probably would try to peel up. But I do think that it they could improve this issue significantly by making the protector slightly larger by like 0.5-1.0 mm, so it would extended slightly beyond the lighted part of the screen. This is a pretty minor issue and I think that I will get used to it after a while. I will update this review if I have any issues with it breaking of scratching.

When I applied the screen protector I pretty much just followed the instructions on the included card but here's the process I used:
I put on rubber gloves, cleaned the phone well, wiped it off with one of the included wipes, used one of the included stickers to remove all dust under a bright light, put the included guide frame on the phone, peeled the backing off of the screen protector and dropped it into frame, pressed down on the protector from top to bottom, took off the frame, used the included tool to press out the bubbles from the center out, peeled off the top stickers, and it was done.

Nach einigen Folien und Gläsern aus China und einer zwar preiswerten aber schlechter Haltbarkeit einer passgenauen Folie vom MM ist dieses Glas von Spigen mit großem Abstand das beste was ich bis jetzt hatte.
Das Display ordentlich entfettet, mit dem beigelegten Tuch die letzten Fussel entfernt, absolut passgenauen Rahmen drauf und das Glas ohne eine Blase montiert.
Der größte Vorteil ist, dass es ohne Ausschnitt für die Frontkamera kommt. Auch sind die Ränder schön abgerundet, sodass mein Daumen beim swipen keine unangenehmen scharfe Kante überwinden muss.
Auch die olephobe Beschichtung ist sehr hochwertig. Eine sehr glatte Oberfläche und so gut wie keine Fingerabdrücke.
Der Preis geht für das gebotene absolut in Ordnung.
Für mein anstehendes Pixel 8 wird's ganz sicher wieder Spigen 👍🏼
