I purchased these to mount my SimpliSafe cameras on, outdoors. They thread into the camera and hold it in place well. After two years of use, they are holding up well, other than some surface rust in spots. For the price, I will just replace them if they rust too badly.

I picked these up because of the price compared to the manufacturer direct. The quality seems pretty good, not quite up to the manufacturers. Install went smooth. The only gripe I have is the lockdown nut moves the camera position once you're finally able to get the camera into the position you want. It's kinda clunky and cumbersome unlike the manufactures, which is much smoother. It's like they have a rough ball bearing in there, while others are polished and float better. This is the case of you get what you pay for. They look good, mount easily and aren't obtrusive, just not as refined as others.

So, it does work, but I think most people will not like it. The plastic tightening nut had to be cut down to allow for the wiring for my Arlo Pro 2 camera. I would actually recommend a stainless steel locknut. I just didn't have one at the moment. I think one other provider offered it, or maybe that was a photo of what someone did. Also, the tightening mechanism for the adjustable mount was not good. I'm expecting to have to adjust it periodically. I set it so the camera should only adjust left to right with wind, but we'll see. The mount seemed to want to slip. I did not have this issue with the OEM mount from Arlo, but it was more than twice the cost. They are both metal, but I just think the manufacturer tolerance for this model versus the OEM is not set correctly. You will see a black and white one in my images. Well, I bought a black one later on to save some money. The tighting mechanism for holding the threaded camera bolt was improved, but the plastic nut is still a poor design. It can't fit the power cable, and you won't to take this camera down to charge when you have to unthread it each time. I guess you could completely unthread the tighting nut for holding the camera bolt, but i would either use an actual nut or cut the plastic one down. I included a picture of the plastic nut provided through Arlo that shows a better design with more threads and narrow width. Here's to hoping the manufacturer reads these and makes the minor changes. Again, you can use this, but I'm disappointed.

Don't know why there's poor reviews for these camera mounts. I.e. people can't adjust at all angles in all directions, they are flimsy etc. These Mounts work great. No issues.
