We've had ours for a year and it's been great (a little pun for you).My ONLY complaint is a minor design issue. The grater is held to the frame by friction. Vigorous grating can cause the grater to shift in the frame. A tiny spot weld or physical crimp would hold it in place. Otherwise it will last you the rest of your life.

Honestly, mess with all those "creative" graters, if you please. But, I've tried dozens of different styles, from box graters to folding graters to simple ones, and this one takes the cake. Ahem...the cheese.

Btw, I use mine primarily for grating medium (cheddar) to medium-soft cheeses (pepper jack; mozzarella), so that's where I'm coming from.

1. The holes are perfectly spaced. Most graters are closer than this.
2. The hole size is also perfect. Most graters are smaller or larger than this.
3. The holes are sharp, so the cheese grates very easily, but it doesn't cut our sensitive skin like some. Yay!
4. The size is amazing! We use 1 lb rectangular, 2 lb rectangular, and 2 lb square blocks, and this is wide enough to accommodate all of them without feeling too big!

Could the handle and base rubber be a bit thicker/softer? Yeah, but it'd probably come at a higher price. We don't grate 6 lb. at a time, so we're good. We usually top out at about 2.5-3 lb. at once, and we're happy campers. If you want a comfy handle, add some grip tape or some leather wrap (ooh, niice).

Sometimes, the simplest designs are the best. Buy this and compare to others. I bet you'll like this one the best.
