Update 4 months later: transformer still going strong and working as expected! But now my mechanical door chime has a slight buzz I heard it’s common if you put a high output transformer. I know it’s my mechanical doorbell because if I shut the breaker off for the doorbell the buzzing stops. It doesn’t bother me and it’s not loud but I can hear it when I walk by the mechanical doorbell chime when there is no noise in my place. Not sure what’s causing it or how to fix it as I have the ring power pro connected to it as well.

Install was pretty smooth...was able to screw onto flat baseplate with the plastic nut on the back and it was off to the races! No wiring changes needed (other than replacing the chime and installing doorbell).
Seems to be working just fine, powering the chime and the new Ring doorbell. Not sure it will last 50 years, but hopefully I can get 10.
I opted not to send mine back because of the hassle. I re-flattened the four sides of the metal before installing. The directions do not show installation of the transformer to a breaker box. I found my old transformer attached beneath insulation and snug behind my breaker panel. It was easy to replace. My old transformer did not have a ground wire so I had to attach the new green ground wire with the new white neutral wire. My video doorbell is now pulling enough power and is working as originally designed.
UPDATE: I received a call from Ring asking me about my recent experience. The representative, Aaron, was super nice and went out of his way to get in touch because we were on different time zones. He apologized for the bent transformer and immediately shipped me the Ring stickers that I did not receive. He also addressed my concern from my other Ring purchase…Ring Pro 2 Video Doorbell. In that purchase, I was supposed to receive a coupon for a free faceplate in my choice of color. Since I did not receive the coupon, Aaron resolved that issue as well. He provided a list of colors for me to choose from and then shipped me the faceplate in leaf green which matched my exterior door. I was very impressed that Ring actually reads their product reviews and followed up. That’s why I changed my rating from one star to five stars. Thank you Aaron & Ring!
