This phone case fits the pixel 5 perfectly. The case has an anti-slip grip and work well in the rain. The only con to this is the protective cover over the charging port. When plugging in a charger the bottom of the case is unseated and will break off if used repeatedly. Not and issue for induction charging.

I Wish I Had Bought This When My Phone Was New

The biggest mistake I made when I got my Pixel 5 phone a couple years ago was just getting a basic case for it, instead of something like this OtterBox. Drop damage to my phone that wasn't prevented by my crummy cheap case would almost certainly not been an issue. This thing looks and feels great, and even works with wireless charging.

Two minor complaints: it is a little tricky to put together (I had to watch a YouTube video) and it makes the phone almost too large to use in existing grips / holders such as my gimbal stabilizer. I manage to make it fit, though just barely.

Dropped many times - Not a scratch

This phone case is great for keeping your phone on pristine condition.

Throughout my life, I've used a lot of hard and rubber cases, but none of them have protected my phone this well. Those cases didn't have extended bevels to protect the screen better, and the phone was easily dented through the case. This does not happen with this case.

I've dropped my phone with this case many times over the past months with no damage at all to the actual phone. The screen protector can be cracked if you drop it face down onto rough concrete, but no phone could prevent that. Solid product.

This case makes wireless charging slightly difficult, but it still works fine for the most part.

In general, I'd recommend this phone case for anyone who takes and uses their phone outside on a daily basis. It's definitely saved me a lot of money in repairs.

When all was done, it fits nicely and will protect phone well. Just tough. Needs to be a 2 piece model like in past. Happy with it anyway

One of the best things about having an OtterBox case for my phone is not being worried at all times when it inevitably slips off a surface or out of my hand. The texture on the back gives decent grip, and the fingerprint reader is unimpeded.

The downside is wireless charging can be hit and miss, and where the port cover is ends up being functionally useless very fast - it isn't strong enough to handle repeated opening and closings, which happens minimally once a day for charging reasons. On my last one it was the first piece to break, and the only piece to break for a long time, and I can already see it wearing down on the new one too.

Otherwise this does its job of making sure my inevitable phone pratfalls have not led to a bricked device or shattered screen. Thank you OtterBox!

I have always used the folding wallet type case for my phones as I just throw it into my bag and don't have to worry about scratches. I had my last phone for 6 years and there isn't a scratch on the screen at all.

This time I wanted to get away from that type of case as I want to use my phone more than I used to for taking photographs and videos and the flip cases always got in my way.
I loved the idea of the flip case that you can get for the iPhones, where you can remove the phone from the wallet as it is held in place magnetically. But there are none of those for the Pixel phones.

At the price I was not sure about this Otterbox Defender without a screen protector but I have to say I love it!
It has a snug fit to the phone, feels very protective, and I find it extremely comfortable in the hand. I love the tactile nature of the outer rubberised case.

I have fitted the Spigen glass screen protector so that if my screen ever does get scratched I can just replace the protector. I think of those as protecting from scratches rather than protecting the screen from shattering.

But the loose part of the Otterbox case with the belt clip on it can be placed on to cover the screen. There is a tiny gap between it and the glass but I don't have anything in my bag that could fit into that gap.
So now I can remove that and put it back in my bag whilst I use the phone and then replace it when I want to put my phone back in my bag.

The little plug that can be pulled up for the charger seems rugged enough not to become detached from the case too. And the buttons work perfectly.
I am now not afraid to use my phone as I want to and although this is expensive, the only way this would be poor value for money is if the case didn't last as long as it looks as though it will.

The material these are made out of now feels much better than it used to. If you know , you know. That old stuff that used to almost feel sticky after it got old. This new material is great. It has grip like the old stuff but it's not sticky or rubbery feeling in any way. The texture is what I would describe as a stone texture. I'm a notorious phone dropper so since I've ever had a phone with a screen I've had an OtterBox on it. Thinking that I might save a couple of bucks I tried some different brands a few years ago. It ended in a broken screen. Lesson learned. There's a small lip that keeps the screen from touching the ground if you drop it directly on the screen. Which I have done many times.
