The rubber will stretch over time
I have used commuter cases for my last 3 phones and I love them....normally. the S22 Ultra case didn't hold up as well as its predecessors. The plastic bar that is supposed to hold the port cover in place ended up breaking pretty early on, but didn't heavily effect the case. It did make the case easier to pop off, but with my phone mostly in my pocket, this wasn't an issue.The longer you keep the case however, the rubber soft impact portion will stretch out over time, causing it to warp oddly, most notably around the top corners. I didn't think it was an issue, but I just ended up having my first incident causing a screen crack (up until this point, I haven't cracked a screen with the commuter series, IT IS USUALLY THAT GOOD OF A CASE, whether it is a face fall or not). Please note that I have had this phone for around a year and a half. When the phone fell, it fell on the corner where some of the heaviest warping is. Where the impact point is, it should have been covered by the case. But with the warping, it did impact and over the space of a day, a hairline crack has moved across my screen. I am replacing with an Otterbox Symmetry which has better reviews and won't warp, but I'm not fully confident with out the impact rubber. I wish the commuter case would have held up, I don't like not being able to trust the protection of my phone which is the lifeblood for my work. Hopefully this helps other people make an informed decision on their phone case. I just hope that otterbox takes the feedback and makes improvements for future series.
