These are designed to break, I own a dog business and need to vacuum lots of dog hair in order to keep up with our cleaning standards and have stuck with the hoover brand for the last 20 years. Please note I purchase about 3-5 vacuums a year. The past few years the hoover brand has been awful, we are only getting a few months out of these vacuums, whereas before we could get almost a year. They are fully designed to fail and to be replaced for an average consumer every two years or now less. These two new vacuums failed within 2 months and unfortunately hoover's warranty is designed to inconvenience you and make the replacement process difficult. This will be my last hoover vacuum I buy, I won't support a company that produces cheap defective products designed to break and fill landfills. I would have been a dedicated hoover buyer which I was for 20 years but it is clear their profit is more important than a good product. I am now using the shark vacuum (amazing and sturdy) and switching to a metal vacuum at work, that allows me to replace parts as they wear down (Sanitaire). PS, we got the asurian insurance knowing that the vacuum was going to break but we have now learned you can only utilize that once the hoover warranty has expired, all of it is scammy.

Other reviewers here had some complaints but in my opinion for the price this Hoover upright is wonderful! Maybe I just "got a good one" but my Hoover UH30651 upright does everything well. It doesnt "spit dirt" when the hose is removed. Bag changes are pretty simple. The front grab-handle is a little weak so I carry it by the top-most handle when carting it up or down stairs. I like mine!

The Hoover is a very good product. It is light weight but powerful. It is maneuverable and fits under most dining type chairs. The edge suction is also good and it cleans close to your baseboards. The only negative is the wand tools, the hand tool without any bristles is useless. The extension wand also has to be twisted to hold the extention, its a piece of junk.

I decided bagged is better than emptying a bagless canister. Microns flying around and digging to get all the cat hair out—I’m done. The new vacuum does have a squeak like some of the other reviews. It does leave roller marks on the carpet. It is a little noisy, the cats go scattering! BUT this vacuum really does get up all the cat hair. That’s good enough for me. Gone are the days of metal compartment vacuums. It’s all plastic. I still have my old Kenmore canister vacuum but it doesn’t suction as well as this new vacuum.

I would give this purchase a five star rating overall; HOWEVER, my understanding was that the vacuum would come with 3 or 4 additional type y bags as replacements. The vacuum arrived on time and was very easy to assemble and to maneuver. The ONE bag that was already installed is NOT very big, which means that I will have to purchase more bags to replace the one that will fill very quickly.

If I had known that there was only one bag, I would have checked to see if there was a discount on a bulk order. Now I have to go through ordering yet again.

I got this to replace my 15- year-old Hoover (handle broke but mechanically still excellent!). I like that there is a bag; I didn't want to have to clean a chamber. The hand tools are nice and easy to store! One is telescopic and the crevice tool can get in tiny places like the dryer vent area. I like that the pet tool is rubberized and not a brush, so it doesn't get clogged with hair. The suction is just as good as in my old Hoover. The price is right, too. No need to spend hundreds of dollars on a vacuum cleaner!

I purchased this vacuum and based on its Consumer Reports A+ rating. It is easy on the eyes, lightweight, is fairly simple to use (without all the addition bells and whistle features) and it is NOT a swiveling head style. I have had a bagged and bagless Hoover in the past. A 2020 Windtunnel Max Pet Bagless Upright and a 2008 Hoover Tempo Bagged Upright. The bagged went through a few belts, but otherwise kept on going strong. The bagless only lasted 4 years, when the strength of the suction started to go on it.

Knowing more about vacuums these days, after researching them, I had high hopes that the brush bar on this vacuum would stop spinning and when the dial was adjusted to the "Bare Floor" mode. However, it NEVER stops spinning nor does the level of the brush bar change. Since I have hardwood flooring and loop carpets, that are more sensitive to a brush bar and should be avoided, this is a deal breaker for me. The brush bar also impedes the ability of the vacuum to successfully clean bare flooring as it spins away, which interferes with the amount of suction also. I would only recommend this vacuum for wall to wall carpeting, that is non-looped.
