Do I have to vacuum before I use it?

Yes, we recommend vacuuming before using any carpet cleaner. This allows your cleaner to perform better and last longer

Can this machine also be used as a vacuum cleaner?

PowerDash is designed to make carpet cleaning/washing easier and faster and is not intended for use as a vacuum. We recommend vacuuming before using PowerDash on a carpet

How easy is it to clean?

PowerDash is easy to clean. It has a removable nozzle that allows easy access to the brush roll so you can remove any dirt or debris residue from the cleaner. The Dirty Water Tank also has a fully removable lid for convenient cleanup

Do the brushes come out for cleaning?

This is a long review, but it's 100% honest, so I'm sorry that it became a bit of a novel.My husband and I had the chance to buy a house from a family friend who had been a landlord for several years, but no longer wanted to do so since her husband (who'd run the business) had died. The deal was great, so we had to take it. And the tenants left the place a MESS.We decided, among many other things, to get a carpet shampooer. Enter my amazon search and decision to buy this shampooer.I opened the box and laughed because of how light it was. But with the big staircase to the upstairs where the carpeting is, I figured that, if it works it'd be great since it doesn't weigh a ton.Now, we own a Kirby. I HATE the shampooer system on the Kirby. It's such a pain in the butt, and it honestly, I feel, doesn't do that great of a job. (Sorry Kirby company, love the vacuum and all its bells and whistles, but I loathe your shampooer system!)The carpeting BEFORE it was done was just...disgusting. it was FILTHY! it was hard, crunchy, stiff, smelled like dog pee and cigarette smoke. Just...words cannot describe it. Now, my before pic was taken after running the Kirby over it like 3 or 4 times, so it still looked a ton better, but the stuck in dirt, smell, and just pure nasty that was residing in these carpets was unbelievable.AFTER using the Hoover...I'm blown away! This thing has POWER and, with the right heavy duty cleaner (which I purchased separately and was not a Hoover brand as I needed something especially heavy duty) this shampooer was just INSANE! I ran it through all of the carpets 4 times and the amount of nastiness that it pulled out was ASTOUNDING!NOW, after the Hoover, (and using it until the water ran clear) the carpets are soft, thick, smell amazing and we don't have to rush to replace them-its going to wait so we can take care of other things first, and be next summers project while the kids are out of the house! The friend we bought the house from couldn't believe it was the same carpeting when she came and saw the place after we had repainted.I wasn't expecting miracles but this Hoover sure did it for us! And the little handheld we bought did an awesome job on the stairs too!

This Hoover Carpet cleaner is incredible! Easy to assemble and very easy to operate. It really gets into the carpet and CLEANS! My carpets look brand new again! lightweight and easy to haul up and down the stairs. I would say the only drawback is the water container size so this is best for small jobs or spot cleaning pet messes. It still lasts a while but be prepared to refill once or twice per room. All in all, this is an EXCELLENT product and I am very happy with my purchase. Highly recommend, especially at this price point.

We have one room of wall to wall carpeting in our home and didn't want to spend a fortune on a carpet cleaning machine but we need one as we have an older dog who is prone to accidents.

It's great for little spot cleaning but also for a true deep clean. The solution it came with is nice, but I usually use a different product that is a universal detergent with urine eliminating enzymes, due to the dog situation.
It's easy to use and assemble/take apart and keep clean. It comes with a mat for storage after use. We keep it in a closet. I have been able to do the entire room with this machine, but I do have to stop a few times to empty the dirty water/add new cleaning mix/clear the brush roll, but that's to be expected with a compact machine in a very large room so I won't take away stars for that. Works consistently and well, is lightweight and looks nice. Runs well and the carpeting doesn't take too long to dry afterward, especially with a fan running.

If you have a home with just enough carpeting or rugs that need regular cleaning this can't be beat for the price and simplicity.

Kinda loud, but only have area rugs so didn't need a large machine, so chose this one. Did a great job cleaning and getting dog hair removed. I didn't have a problem with leakage. Removing the dirty water container is a challenge, but I will just keep trying to find the best way. Easy to use, light weight.

EASY to clean pet hair from brushes, etc. Also includes tool to use for such.
Comes with a storage mat that catches water when done using unit.

I owned a carpet cleaner made by B******. Not nearly as powerful, hard to empty reservoir, cleaning reservoir was hard to fill (tipped over easily because of weird shape) , and it was a PIA to try to clean pet hair out of the brushes, etc.

I HIGHLY recommend this carpet cleaner for spot cleaning and small areas. I normally don't get excited about household products like this, but Hoover has a 5 star keeper with this one!

Addendum: I have been very pleased with it's ability to clean up "mistakes" by my dog, both front and back types. After removing any large surface matter (more is better), this carpet cleaner does a terrific job getting up residual matter in the pile and removing stains. I have a medium blue carpet with medium pile. Again, I am very impressed with this carpet cleaner's abilities!

So to set the stage. I have 6 cats in my trailer. So you can imagine messes happen. I tested this thing finally this morning after months of owning this. Easy to setup, easy to use, I hate carpet and it helped make the carpet look new. First time using a shampooer too. I'm so happy I invested in this. The solution only needs a small amount mostly warm water, the device is little lighter than my vacuum, I worried about a leak in the dirty water since the plug seems like it could easily wear but I had it reach the plug while using and no leak, I know where the line is now. Well worth the price. I got the bundle with the pet solution and the regular.

This product is good for small areas. I like that it has a heating system to dry carpet faster. If your looking to do the whole house, you might want a bigger carpet cleaner or else you'll have to keep refilling and switching out the dirty water.

Das Produkt haben wir nach Deutschland bestellt aber wenn wir es an einer Steckdose stecken dann wird der ganze Strom im Haus ausgeschaltet.
Würde es in Europa nicht empfehlen.
