Good, basic a/c
I bought this for my bedroom, which is actually a sunroom. My previous a/c could not keep up with the heat. So far, this unit has done really well. I set it to 80 degrees when I'm not home and, according to my thermometer, the room has only gotten up to 81 degrees. The hose is short, but I didn't find it hard to connect to the window, though.Things I like:>The unit is quiet, especially for an a/c. Although it does make a clunking noise when the compressor shuts off. The "clunk" isn't as loud as my old a/c was, though.>It blows really cold air.>My room is about 250 square feet and it cools the room quickly.Some things that disappoint me: This has fewer bells and whistles than similarly priced a/c units. For example, there's no auto fan speed setting, there's no way to set the unit to cool at specific times (only have it shut off on a timer), and the blower doesn't have an auto swing. Also, if you need to drain the a/c, it does not come with a drain hose. I used an old cut up garden hose.A couple things that I really dislike: 1) There was nothing to protect the vent opening on the outside of the window. It was just a big, gaping hole that rain (and any critter that wanted to) could get into. I ended up redneck-engineering the old a/c unit's outside cover to work. The window piece is very narrow, so buying a 6 inch louvered vent cover didn't work. 2) This didn't come with any weatherstripping. I had to go to the depot and buy foam to put on either side of the window piece. Overall, I decided to keep the unit because I think it will keep my room cool. I just feel that, for the price I paid, it should come with a few more options.

We installed the Honeywell portable air conditioner in the bedroom, about 400 sq feet. It was straightforward and easy to install though the window kit that came with it wasn’t enough to have an air tight arrangement. I did notice a few gaps and had to cover this using a seal that I had to purchase locally. It would vary based on your window length and would be useful to purchase the additional window kit as an addition that most of the customers purchase instead of the unit that comes with it. Also the hose length was enough for us but do note that if you need the portable unit closer to the middle of the room, you will have to invest in a longer hose.
Overall we are very happy with our purchase and love the fresh cool air that it’s circulating. Very easy to install and from unboxing to fresh air can be as short as 20 mins.
