The downside is that the thing is the same size but heavier that my last phone, and it's physically unbalanced because of the camera and its housing. I guess I'm the only person who ever buys a Pixel because it has a good set of features at a good price and doesn't give a rat's patoot about the camera, but that's what I did. This is my first Pixel, and I was surprised by the weight and bulk of the camera array. Still, it's not a deal-breaker.
The other thing is that it's SUPER slippery! You'll need a case or skin for it just to keep it from sliding off of every single thing you ever put it down on. It does seem to be very sturdy, and that's a very good thing.
Overall, I'm pleased with the Pixel 8. Wonder how good the pictures I will eventually take with it will be?
I'm liking the finger print reader on the front. I have no idea how they do it but it works a treat. One of the main reasons for switching is that I have an app that was laggy on the Pixel 5. The Pixel 8 does much better.
All I had to do was swap my SIM card and it worked. I didn't even have to contact support.
Reading reviews led me to believe that the battery would struggle to last a day. I'm a light user but today (as my first day with it) I had more than half the battery left. It may be similar to my Pixel 5 as I was used to it.

I just wish that the description said that this is a Xfinity carrier version which will come with some updates or features limitations ie: the esim transfer tool is absent, and updates might be delayed by carrier.
The only bad thing about the phone is that sometimes it overheate when handling some tasks. I don't play games or do video editing so this overheating should not happen in my opinion... This is a Google processor issue IMO.
