I had three kitties in a small house. You’d never know from the lack of litter box smell that I have cats. One was an IBD kitty with the most heinously foul smelling dumps in existence. This stuff was the only thing that worked. For the other two, they’re big boys. Again, this stuff works like nothing else. We bought a different brand of litter by mistake, and we noticed the difference immediately.

Pros: Out performs every other clumping litter I’ve tried. No smell; unless you get up close, and then it’s only the snell of the deodorizer, not cat pee. Clumps very well.

Cons: The deodorizer scent is a bit strong at times. Clumps somewhat heavy.

I'm usually around when my cat needs to pee given that I work from home so I tend to want to clean the box asap. In doing so the litter has yet to fully form into a hardened clump but I have noted it's still easy to pick up with minimal chipping. Fresh Step forms rather large clumps which is good for people like me. Even when the clumps chip they are fairly large so they can still be pulled from the box. This keep the box cleaner and allows for me to not need to change it but once every two weeks as I fill in the litter after the one week mark.

I don't know what Clorox (Parent company) is doing with their litter brand but the scent of it is strong. Its such that you can taste it when cleaning the box out. It has a scent similar to some well known men's cologne. I like that it clumps well with minimal breakage of the clumps and it last quite a while. It took about 2.5w for the scent of the litter to finally dissipate however at that point, I feel like the product no longer holds onto urine odor.

Previously I was using Nestle brand, Purina Tidy Cats which I can say in comparison isn't as good of a product overall. For one, dust was something else when cleaning the box as well as when my cat would dig for her bowl movements. You could see a bit of a dust cloud above the box when she'd dig around. Tidy cats also almost always broke apart when still semi wet from pee. If you, like me, clean the box quickly after use you'll notice plenty of tiny clumps that wasn't picked up. This caused me to want to get rid of the litter as soon as possible because all the tiny clumps of litter is very unsanitary. I spent far more on this brand of litter as I needed to use more to keep things sanitary. The one real pro is the fact their product is truly unscented.

Both brands of litter track but because Fresh Step is a denser litter it has far less tracking than Tidy Cats. Tidy would be all over my apartment. Fresh Step at best usually goes no more than about a food from the litter box normally due to the fact my cat jumps out her box taking litter with her. I don't sweep around her box nearly as much since switching out to Fresh Step.

Overall I will continue to buy because it's an excellent litter that performs well however shaving a star off due to the fact its still highly scented.

Update 5/12/24

I just noted that my cat would spray her litter box and around it when I was using this litter. Now, this litter performs extremely well and holds onto odor, my cat on the other hand wasn't having it with the scent. She is spayed already so that didn't do a thing for her spraying. She sprayed her box to cover the scent of the litter with her own! I'd clean around her box and the wall and she'd respray it every chance she got because the scent of this litter is so strong.

I'm only noting this now given that I switched to a truly no scent litter (it doesn't perform as well with odor control. ) I haven't seen my girl spray her litter box since the change. Now if Clorox really made this product without scent I'd return to this brand in a heartbeat. Cats really don't like scents. I actually minded the scent as well given how strong it is.

If you cat starts spraying after this litter is used, it's because of the smell of it. Skip this litter brand if you cat like mine actually continues to spray after a neuter/spaying in an attempt to cover the litter scent.

So, I have an older black momma cat. She is missing an eye and dislikes most people except for me, and that's only because I feed her and give her pets when she wants. She really likes this litter, it absorbs and clumps well. I sift the box every couple of days and the litter that is left behind smells nice and I just add a little more litter in after I scoop. I don't get the judgmental looks now when she leaves the litter box.

I thought I liked this when I first bought it. It was so easy to work with and covers smell great. That being said, it’s HEAVILY scented, which I could have dealt with. But my cat had it all over her paws covered like cement. It was stuck to her fur, she tracked blackish litter all over the couch. I had to take a cloth to her paws, otherwise she would lick it all off and it’s sooo fine there’s no way that ingesting all of that litter could be good for her.

Sobre el producto estoy muy contento con él incluso va a ser la arena que voy a comprar siempre y he comparado otras tantas y esta me ha convencido
Sin embargo esta última entrega no me gusto, la caja exterior en la que vienen los dos paquetes venía rota y golpeada lo cual provoco que una de las cajas de arena estuviera igualmente golpeada, por fortuna no al grado de tener fugas de la arena, las anteriores entregas muy bien pero esta muy al "ahí se va"
Créanlo no solo basta que el producto sea bueno, es muy importante el servicio, los tiempos de entrega, el manejo de los paquetes y que todo llegue excelente, considérenlo por favor

He probado muchas marcas incluso la fresh step extreme y esta es la mejor arena sin duda. Tengo dos gatos y dos areneros y ya nunca huele mal mi casa. Es cara espero que se compense con la duración.
