We do have a screen, but we haven't put it up yet. We just haven't gotten around to it, and the projector looks so good even without it.
To be fair, we do have a pretty great area for a projector. We don't have a dedicated theater room, but it is in a basement room with half windows covered with blackout curtains on either side. It works rather well.
My only gripe is that the physical size of the projector is big enough that it was a bit of a hassle to hunt down a surface to sit it on. We ended up with a coffee table. I'm not in love with it, but it works. We do have some added difficulty due to having to find something rather low to the ground since the ceilings are only 8ft in the room it is in.
The regular HDMI input and the Android TV options work great with the remote and ARC audio out to my sound bar. I can switch easily to my PC, my main home entertainment source, and Android TV with little problem. The sound controls on the remote operate my sound bar just fine. The two work in tandem well. That is until you switch to the game console specific HDMI input.
The settings associated with the 4k 120hz game console specific HDMI input is nothing short of frustrating. The main HDMI input use the HDMI ARC audio output to my sound bar just fine, but ARC audio out is not available for the game console output. You have to choose between optical and the speakers on the projector. The speakers on the projector are ok, but something on it rattles with heaver bass. I attempted to set up the audio with an optical cable, but I'm not sure if that's a projector or speaker issue that is unsuccessful. Regardless, it should not be an issue if the audio exits through the ARC audio out.
Next, you have to switch back to Android TV to adjust any settings. For some reason, the projector's UI does not work on the game console HDMI. What? So if you are trying to figure out why the audio isn't coming out of the speaker bar's ARC channel you have to switch back to Android TV. If you want to switch to one of the other HDMI input, you have to switch back to Android TV then to the HDMI other channel. Is it a small inconvenience, sure, but for the money you're paying, you'd think you'd have a higher quality of software running the UI.
Over all the projector is amazing visually and you can see the quality and hard work which went into developing the picture. Too bad all the money was spent on developing the picture and little on the usability of the device outside the spectacular view.
