The AC-8 is a replacement of our AC-14. Our AC-14 just suddenly stopped cooling after just 2 years of very sparing use. All immediately accessible critical parts (compressor, filters, fan) were in practically brand new condition still. It was likely something wrong with refrigerant, which cannot be accessed since it is a closed system.
In any case, Euhomy customer service kindly offered to replace the broken unit with their AC-8 (AC-14 has been discontinued). We received the unit yesterday. Luckily, just in time for a major heatwave. Overall, installation is a breeze, just like any other portable unit. The window slats housing the exhaust hose are well-built and sturdy. I did have to cut a bit off to fit our window's dimensions, but cutting was made easier bc of the sturdiness of the slat. I'll keep cut piece in case we'll need to glue it back should we need it in the future. As with my experience with the AC-14 initially out-of-box, the AC-8 works well for a unit its size. This unit can fit anywhere. Despite not having all the bells and whistles (Wi-Fi, auto fins), it makes up for in smaller size yet still cooling quickly even on the low fan setting. For this price point, you wouldn't expect all the bells and whistles anyway. It is a bit noisy, but not by much over any other unit, bigger or smaller.
When it comes down to it, I would definitely consider buying again. Additionally, I've been quite pleased with my experience with Euhomy customer service this far (🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟) . They actually "try" to prioritize your satisfaction, even when you've exceeded the warranty. Would definitely consider their other products as well now.
