The only problem that I have found is that the vent hose comes off the back of it very easily. I’ll have to be creative to figure out a way to be able to move it even just a little bit without that happening. But the a/c is working very well in a VERY hot upstairs with no vents.

There was one other thing that I don’t understand. The pieces that slide together to go in the window are not the same width. For lack of a better idea, had to put duct tape over the more narrow piece to seal it enough to keep heat from coming in the window. I have another unit that I’ve had for about 5 years. Different brand. Not as big as this one so it couldn’t cook the whole L shaped room. It doesn’t have either of the issues this has, but this product I am reviewing definitely does a better job of cooling.

1. First impression out of the box is that the packaging is well done, probably over doing so nothing would damage it during shipping.

2. Definately solid built, quality you can tell from the PVC board all around the unit.

3. Gets job done quick, my master bedroom cools down in a minute or 2.

4. Pretty quite. You can still hear it but nothing bothering sleep.

Over it all, you gotta have it if you don’t wanna waste power on your central AC when you only need it for a bedroom^_^

Too much water

This air conditioner produces an obnoxious amount of water. It has to have constant drainage to be on cool. It filled a five gallon bucket in about 24 hours. I have never had an air conditioner that needed constant drainage. I didn't think I needed it when I first set it up so I didn't set up the drain tube. It had overflowed in under 2 hours and that was at night when it was a little cooler. It doesn't cool any better than my old 10,000 BTU air conditioner that never overflowed and I never had a drain tube on. If you can place it by a sink or drain it would be ok, but otherwise you better have a big bucket.

I purchased this unit because I do not have zone heating/cooling in my home. On very hot days, my air conditioning will not keep up and runs all day. My hope is that this will help keep the upstairs cool enough the whole house air conditioner doesn't run non-stop. Installation was fairly easy. The instructions have photos on installing the window portion, but they are white parts on a white background, so they are difficult to read. After reading reviews on how quiet the unit is, I thought this would be more quiet. I wanted to install it in the main living room, but it is too loud, which makes it impossible to watch tv. I ended up putting it in a spare bedroom simply due to the sound level. As far as cooling, I think it cools fairly well. It will work for the intended use, but it is quite loud. Finally, the included remote does not work. It feels very cheaply made. I did try new batteries that I had on hand, hoping the included batteries were dead. It still didn't work. Overall, I would not purchase this unit again.
