Directions

1. Plug in the CHI Ceramic Curling Iron and allow it to heat up. 2. Take a 1-2 inch section of hair. 3. Hold the section of hair above the root. 4. Place the end of the hair in the clamp of the curling iron. 5. Wrap the hair evenly around the barrel, starting from the ends and moving towards the roots. 6. Wait 2-3 seconds, then release the clamp and unwrap the hair from the barrel. 7. Repeat this process for the remaining sections of hair. 8. Once finished curling, turn off and unplug the curling iron.

Worked well until…
I use a curling iron every day. I have medium length, thick hair. It curls well. My hair held curls well for most of the day without any product to hold.However, I’m disappointed overall with the longevity of the iron. After only 5 months of use, the gold coating of the iron has started to flake on the inside part of the clam and barrel. I’ve never had this issue before with any of my other Chi products.

This curling iron gets super hot very fast and has multiple heat settings so it works beautifully. You have to be careful to put the stand clip down when curling to prevent burns, but otherwise, it is like using a high end professional curling iron. I also have the 1.5” barrel one as well and it seems a little big for my shoulder length bob, but the 1” barrel makes a fairly tight curl. I try to avoid the “sausage roll” curls by only holding the curling iron on the hair for a couple of seconds. The 1” barrel works really well on shorter face-framing pieces though.

OMG. I just purchased this again after trying several other brands touted by social media influencers and people in the hair industry. These other brands tend to be quite expensive and so one would think that means higher quality and and more satisfactory results. That is just not true in this case. I find this tool be superior in several ways. I am not sure why I decided to try other brands but within the past 2 months I have purchased 4 irons and each left my hair more damaged and frizzy than the next. I was becoming paranoid thinking that my hair was changing due to hormones, nutrition deficiencies or weather. I have been spending money left and right to find products to repair damage and vitamins to strengthen and promote growth. I was searching on Amazon for reviews of irons that might be safe to use until I got my hair strong again and this one popped up. I recognized this as the one I had prior to switching and figured I would try it again. I am soooo glad I did. First use was an instant improvement. My hair held the curl? It did not feel fried, it is shinier and I can tell now that the other irons were the problem this whole time. I did one last test and did two curls side by side. I did one curl with this iron and one with the most expensive iron. My hair felt scalded and crispy with the expensive brand. I will be giving my other irons away and sticking with this one from now on!
