Read this if the filter doesn’t fit or it’s hard to drink through
***Update on this review: I kept getting filters that were too long to fit in the bottle, so I reached out to Brita to see what the problem was. My water bottle originally came with a little round plastic piece inside the straw that looked kind of like a wheel with a knob on one end. The first filter I received along with the water bottle fit perfectly when I used that plastic piece on the bottom of the filter, but according to Brita, that piece isn’t necessary, and now the longer filters can just be put in the straw as is. I’ve also gotten a filter that was flat on the bottom, but they said that the filters should be open at the end. So if your filter doesn’t fit, check to make sure that there’s no plastic wheel piece inside the straw, and if it is, just pop it out and toss it. Hope this helps someone!I bought my Brita water bottle at Target and it came with a filter that fit perfectly. I ordered these replacements when it was time, but they were about a quarter inch too long to fit… The one that originally came with the bottle had just slipped right in with no fuss, but I had to press these ones down pretty hard to be able to lock the cap back on. It was SO difficult to drink from, like trying to suck a milkshake through one of those tiny coffee straws. Finally I just grabbed a knife and cut the end of the filter off until it fit properly, then rinsed it well and popped it back in. That worked! Now it flows like it did when I first got it, and there are no bits of residual charcoal or anything. So if your filters don’t fit, just try trimming it a quarter of an inch or so, and make sure to rinse it thoroughly afterward.
