This is my first detailed review for a product. There is some very minor incentive from the manufacturer to write an honest review, which isn't even enough to pay for my time to write this review. I wrote this because I like the product. I paid just under US$35.00 for this in September 2020.

I bought this AGPTEK A19X mp3 player to replace a failing 5th gen (aka Stubby) iPod Nano and a 7th gen iPod Nano that I accidentally fatally damaged. My main use case for this product is spoken voice (podcast and audiobook) listening. I am an audiophile and use much higher quality and priced Fiio players for music listening.

Pros:
- Overall, I am pleasantly surprised by the build quality and software user interface and reliability.
- This player feels very solid and built to last.
- It is very pocketable.
- The controls and menu system are intuitive to use. I didn't even read the included user manual.
- It is a good value, especially for podcast and audiobook listening.
- I have not listened yet to any file types other than mp3.
- Battery life seems to be excellent, but I haven't played it long enough to run down the battery.
- Sound quality is good, but not as well balanced as the much more expensive various iPods and Nanos I have owned over the years. However, spoken voice sound is easier to hear and understand in noisy environments due to its bright sound. It seems to lack bass, and has an emphasis on mid and high frequencies. Proviso: I've only listened with inexpensive MEE earphones, which may have an impedance unsuitable for this player. I have not yet tried the earphones that came with this player.
- It is easy to connect to my Bluetooth portable speaker. Haven't tried yet to connect it to my car's BT system.

Cons:
- The different audio equalizer settings don't seem to change the sound much, if at all.
- The Repeat setting only seems to affect the current file, and is not a global setting. It is annoying to constantly change it for each file I play.

General Comments:
I wish the Resume feature was automatic instead of a menu selection. Generally speaking I want a file to start playing from where I left off listening. If I want to start over, then I'd rather use the back button to skip to the beginning of the file.

I'd prefer to have global settings in addition to per file settings.

Summary:
I didn't expect this player to match the sound quality of much more expensive competitors. It doesn't sound as good as higher priced units, at least with the earphones I use. But it doesn't have to for my needs. In most other respects, however, it exceeds my expectations for a US$35 player. It is well built, and is so far reliable and easy to use. Most people use their expensive smart phones to listen to music, etc, but I prefer a dedicated device that is small and has more features designed for listeners.

I honestly was expecting a cheap plastic thing, like bendy plastic and extremely light....this thing is metal and weights as much as your phone OR MORE! There are some slight details to take in account tho: Rhe color looks different in person, much more beautiful in the pic, as it's showing a purple-ish light blue, instead you'd get a green-ish light blue that looks as a swimming pool piece. In terms of Software we have bigger problems: The device, specially designed to be a music player, can't manage playlists...not as expected at least (there are 3 playlists by default, that you CAN'T customize, only add songs to them, nothing else, they'll always be PL1, PL2 and PL3). Also the device will take similar album names and mix them, so you might end with a christian album...with songs from Ghost. But despite this, I love the little dude, and the materials are too good for what it is.

At first I thought this player was a good deal, I liked the way the way that the radio played, the setup was easy to understand, and the device seemed well made. Well, then I found out that this mp3 player Doesn't play Audible!! I have a 10 year old Sansa Fuze that Plays Audible, but not this device!! ?? Then I found out that when I copied a bunch of my songs (.mp3) from my Sansa Fuze to this device, it would play 1 sound for ALL the songs!!! A long solid hum!!! What?!! Initially I had songs that would play normally except for about 10 that had that insane hum. So I deleted all the copied mp3 files, and copied them over again, and it worked! 🤡 Now, ALL the songs have been assigned ONE SOUND!!! Incredible!! NOT happy!🤯 IF I can figure this problem out I will keep this player, if not, refund time...Frankly, kinda shocked to say the least!! My 10 year old Sansa Fuze works better then this brand new player!! I do not recommend it!!

This is my third unit and it is a marvel. Way superior to the previous two. I used my previous two so much that I literally wore them out. The first died when the battery would not recharge. Have since learned that you never ever let the battery go so low that it shuts off. The second one still works, but I ruined the earphone jack because of the way I was using it. Won't do that anymore. You need the wired headphone because it becomes the antenna for pulling in the FM radio stations. Does a great job of scanning in the local stations BTW.
This new one just blew me away. It is a slightly larger size which is great for holding and looking at the screen. The sound quality is great and this little marvel works well with wired headphones and bluetooth. I was blown away by how far the bluetooth transmits the sound to my headphones. I left the player downstairs and walked around the house upstairs and everything came through loud and clear. That was a shock.
Stll getting used to way the folders are set up for opening up the music files, so it will take a little while.
The sound off my MP3 files is just nuts...sharp and clear and clean. This player also comes with several pre-sets for adjusting the sound for your music or you can adjust to hear the sound the way you like it, which is what I did.
Indeed, I like this one so much that I am debating on ordering a second one.
Recording off of FM radio and recording off of the built in speaker. These work just fine. For example, if there was a special program coming up on your local FM station and you wanted to record to hear later..boom simple easy. You could also download files (podcasts) and then load on to your micro card and insert the card to listen to the program later.
So if you are looking for a nice playback devise for working out in the gym, taking a walk, mellowing out before hitting the sack and you do not want to use your cell phone....this is the answer.

Estaba buscando un mp3 para no saturar mi teléfono y la relación capacidad-precio-opiniones estaba muy dispareja entre las múltiples marcas que existen. Hasta el momento funciona muy bien, aunque tiene sus detalles no es que no sirva.
PROS: Es pequeño y muy ligero, llevarlo es muy fácil. Su capacidad es increíble, y aún no le he comprado memoria externa. Su ecualizador es notoriamente funcional y su conexión Bluetooth es excelente, sin pérdidas. Las funciones de podómetro, grabadora de voz y alarma son muy prácticas. Puede usarse como bocina y con audífonos con cable e inalambricos. Su batería es muy durable y se carga muy rápido. La relación precio y calidad es justa. Agregar las canciones es sencillo. Se puede modificar el brillo de la pantalla y de los botones, así como el límite del volumen y bloqueo.
CONTRAS: Se necesita mucha dedicación para catalogar las canciones de forma que el reproductor las muestre en orden (nombre, número de pista, género, etc). Muchos álbumes podrían ser complicados de buscar, ya que se van guardando como se agregan, y si desde el principio no se guarda por orden alfabético no es práctico. La calidad del audio depende mucho del dispositivo, y a veces cada canción funciona diferente con el ecualizador y el volumen, pero puede ser problema de la canción. Si el título del álbum o la canción son largos no se muestran completos (aunque tengo algunos títulos en japonés que se mueven horizontalmente, no funciona con las demás letras). Los botones del volumen se sienten algo frágiles, pero se puede subir el volumen desde la pantalla. Su frente se siente frágil, se antoja algún tipo de protección extra como una mica o una funda.

La capacidad es notoria. Aunque sólo tiene tres carpetas que funcionan como play list, se podría crear una carpeta con las canciones que se quieran y agregarla. Los audífonos que vienen no son muy buenos, pero igual no planeaba usarlo con ellos. El acabado es bonito y se siente muy estable y resistente.
En general lo considero una buena compra
