Bloomberg fixed Playing VIDEO/ LIVE TV after "Update" v 3.0.9, with delay from Tech Support
Bloomberg does have a wonderful team of journalists! I absolutely love their news coverage for Wall Street and Politics. Finally last month and in time for Thanksgiving 2021 their Customer Service responded to our Technical Support Issue of several months on Amazon Prime Firestick App. Better late than never, but I am glad I was able to follow up via Numerous Listed Channels emails and finally called them and reached a very helpful person who escallated to the correct channel to reach Amazon Prime Firestick App Developers at Bloomberg.Bloomberg Amazon App v3.0.9 didn't work at All, it didn't Play Anything, Any of the Videos or Shows listed on the App. Kept getting an Error Message: "Playback Error" which was reported for over 4 months (via their Website Chat, via several emails monthly, and not sure why none of these emails were even acknowledged until we called). This is all on Fire TV Stick 2nd Generation (OS 5.2.8.4) and Fire TV Version 6330065.1.Bloomberg Amazon App used to freeze often on Amazon Firestick (during commercials) since May 2021 and in Prior year 2020 after an apparent new application releases which were not tested. The TV App itself under Help Section doesn't list an email or a phone number to contact them with technical support issues and their Website Feedback is combersome to find their Amazon Prime Firestick App Developers Contact Email (I eventually found it on the Feedback website, but that Feedback was simply ignored for months as maybe it was not even gone anywhere outside the chat. So we followed up with a phone call which we should have thought of right when first noticing the issue instead of emailing). Sadly, on the Website there is not a live Chat Person to report this to for Amazon Firestick App.But Bloomberg show content and journalism is great! When App does work there is a beautiful sidebar with news and Bottom Headlines Preview (although we wish this preview was a little bit slower). Another wish would be to restore TV Schedule on a separate Tab (as it used to be 2 years ago).My only remaining issue is unlike several years ago, it's Impossible to Zoom in the TV screen and make it full Screen as one can Experience if they would like to focus on the TV content without helpful distructions o:) such as quotes and Indexes, etc (Full Screen Mode was taken away a year or two ago). They should give users an Option as they used to to View Full Screen and switch to Multitasking Minimized Screen with parallel information around. Most old shows which you can see online would not be on their Bloomberg TV+ Amazon Firestick App, but many recent shows and clips are available on Amazon Prime Firestick App. Streaming tickers at the Bottom of the screen were removed as well which is sad, as Fox Business Network (WSJ) still has the running ticker line at the bottom of their shows and they do display TV Videos on the Entire Screen. As an alternative to this App for good World Financial Markets and Wall Street coverage without too much biases we also mainly use CNBC, Yahoo Finance or REUTERS Apps on Amazon.
Wow! The Bloomberg app was just updated today and the layout is now similar to the display you would see on cable TV. I watch Bloomberg all throughout the day as I am working (I am a professional stock trader) and I initially started using it because it was included with my Amazon Prime subscription. It initially took some getting comfortable using it because it did not look like the cable version (although I dropped cable over 15 years ago) of Bloomberg TV but that has now been updated. It is on daily in my office and I think it is the BEST news channel available (and besides, it is FREE with Prime). If you consume business news and have not tried the Bloomberg app on Prime recently, I think you will be pleasantly surprised!!
P.S. Also, the graphics appear sharper and it appears to perform much better that it's previous version.
Update (01/29/2021): It appears as though Bloomberg, at least on Amazon Prime, has fixed the intermittent buffering problems it had been experiencing. Whatever they did, the app rarely experiences buffering and freeze ups now!
I've been using the Bloomberg app for a long time and I'm very happy with it. Sometimes I have problems connecting using the app available on Samsung TVs but everything works fine on my Fire TV sticks. Bloomberg is also available on the echo show and I use that all the time too.
Bloomberg TV offers the best business news available. When CNBC is running infomercials Bloomberg TV is still pumping out business news and analysis. You can watch live Bloomberg TV or clips of highlights. You can also watch full episodes of all their shows any time you want.
This is all free and doesn't require you to create an account or log into an account. You just download the app and you're done. If you're an investor then this is the app for you.
As others have said for months this app leaves much to be desired. The content is usually good but I have a hard time accessing it because the app has flaws.
It usually is very slow to navigate down to the rows such as on the market insights row. Then when you try to navigate over to a story of interest it goes back and just plays the first story clip in the row instead of the story I selected. Today I tried this on multiple different stories but could not get anything but the first story clip to play.
Bloomberg does have a wonderful team of journalists! I absolutely love their news coverage for Wall Street and Politics.

With CNBC charging 29.99/month to not allow the live stream on FireTV we are left with Bloomberg. I am adaptable, and this could be okay especially because it is free!
So why 3 stars...
Every few minutes it freezes. I hit the back button, I come back in, ad plays, and we are live with Bloomberg again.... For free I can almost deal with this nightmare.
But it gets worse: ...Sometimes when you are trying to get this bus moving with the back and forth manuver discussed above you lose audio. Ugh!
On the return trip the ad on the way in gets audio, but the broadcast does not have audio. This leads to a couple of start the stream, watch the ad, get no audio, push the back button, come back in, watch the ad, and hope the lost audio has found its way home.
While typing this review I have gone through the freeze cycle 6 times. Three times because of no audio.
I think Bloomberg is in a great position to steal all of CNBC's FireTV cord cutters, bit they have got to solve this freeze cycle.
It could be better, in terms of finding particular video clips. This is mainly a problem with the Amazon Fire remote interface. Bloomberg already has a voice-to-text device which works moderately well (it is used for subtitles, when you turn them on). This should be run through an AI "summary generator", and put into the video clips' metadata.
