This is a perfect shop vac for emergencies. I can't say how durable it would be if used daily in a garage. It's powerful enough to handle a good amount of water, and maneuverability is good. The vacuum is lightweight when empty, and the attachments are excellent. It makes using it on flooring a lot easier. Intuitive design and reusable filters are a bonus.
If you own a home and are still unsure if you need a shop vac, buy it. It's great for general use but it's a lifesaver when your basement (or any other room) floods. Three days after this was delivered, our basement flooded. I was able to vacuum up 90% of the water and saved myself thousands in repairing/replacing items. I put this thing through the ringer, dumping bucket after bucket of water over a couple hours, and never had an issue with suction or performance. I've also used it to clean up sawdust and it worked well.
There are certainly higher quality shop vacs available but for the price this gets 5 stars from me.
