Have had this monitor for about two weeks now and here are what I like about it.

Super smooth gameplay: The 180Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time make for an incredibly smooth gaming experience. I play a lot a FPS and this monitor and keep up!

Gorgeous visuals: The QHD resolution and IPS panel produce stunning visuals with sharp details and vibrant colors. I was particularly impressed by the color accuracy, which is perfect for both gaming and creative work.

Adaptive sync: The AW2724DM supports both AMD FreeSync Premium Pro; NVIDIA G-SYNC, and VESA which means that you can use this the PS5 and enable Variable Refresh Rate at 2k resolution.

Comfortable design: The ergonomic stand allows you to adjust the tilt, swivel, and height of the monitor to find the perfect viewing position. The stand is also very sturdy, so there's no need to worry about the monitor wobbling.

Stylish design: The AW2724DM has a sleek and stylish design that will look great on any gaming desk. The AlienFX lighting adds a touch of personality and can be customized to your liking.

Haven’t come across any negatives so far as the panel tested perfect and no dead pixels.

Overall, I'm very impressed with the Dell Alienware AW2724DM. It's a great gaming monitor that offers excellent performance, stunning visuals, and a comfortable design. Easily an upgrade from traditional monitors, But very annoying to maintain, this isnt a monitor you can forget about and leave on otherwise you risk damaging it, additionally every 4 hours of use you have to manually pixel refresh it (It will not warn you when 4 hours has passed like the other alienware monitors) but that being said, the positives are stunning, Instant refresh rate, True colors, And the latency is non existant, Pairing this with any decent gpu is gonna provide a pretty nice experience.

Fantastic Product w/ Downsides

I purchased this monitor a year ago after extensive research. I was looking explicitly for a monitor that had an IPS panel, a fast response rate, a high refresh rate, was QHD, and offered a great warranty.

The Alienware offers all of these, at a great price.

I’ll list the pros and cons that I’ve experienced over the year of owning this product.

Pros:

- IPS w/ 98% SDR/HDR color calibration out of the box
- High SDR Brightness
- 280hz Refresh Rate
- 0.5ms Response Rate w/ overdrive
- QHD (2560x1440)
- Build quality is top tier
- Zero ghosting
- No flicker
- Freesync Pro works with AMD/Nvidia cards
- 3 year warranty out of the box from Alienware

Cons:

- Backlight Bleed is noticeable on black wallpapers or in very dark scenes, probably one of the worst I’ve seen. This is common with this unit if you search it. For me, it’s not a massive issue because I only use it for bright FPS titles. I have an ultrawide OLED for other games.

- Alienware UI is lacking compared to competitors. The UI feels like there’s a lot, but there’s actually not. This is especially true if you try HDR mode, where the panel will lock the color, and brightness settings. Why this is makes no sense to me.

- No HDMI 2.1. This doesn’t really matter since it’s not a 4k monitor, but I would assume it would have one since the monitor was released after the currentgen consoles. At the price, it surprised me. I use DP 1.4 either way, so it wasn’t an issue for me.

- No speakers. This personally doesn’t affect me as I use either headphones or a surround system. However, it technically is a con.

- Mediocre HDR performance. The HDR performance is mediocre at best. The gray uniformity isn’t the greatest because the backlight bleed, which takes away from the highs and lows HDR tries to accomplish. The HDR brightness is also technically below standard. I would recommend SDR, which looks very good anyway.

- Semigloss screen coating. The coating appears more matte than semigloss to me, but it’s not bad per say. It’s still good enough to not wash out the colors like some matte coatings, but I definitely feel like calling this semigloss isn’t accurate. I would rather call it lightly matte.

Conclusion:

- This monitor excels at being a top tier choice at competitive fast moving games like CoD, CS2, Overwatch, Etc. However, it does not excel at games that would be better played on an OLED or MiniLED panel. I own this monitor strictly for FPS titles, and have the OLED AW3423DWF for other games. My use for this monitor is fantastic, and I would definitely recommend it for anyone who plays fast paced competitive games and can push the frames to utilize the refresh rate.

If you do not enable "Smart HDR" in the OSD (off by default), the monitor will be stuck at 30Hz on AMD GPUs. Once you get it working at 360Hz, you will have cursor skipping. I will update this review if AMD/Dell decide to fix this or I find a workaround. I've tried an Acer X25 360Hz that did not exhibit this issue.

Other problems:
- In the sleep state, the power LED pulses white instead of switching to an amber color like every other monitor (they're too cheap to add a separate amber LED)
- The OSD is extremely laggy (takes roughly half a second to initially pop up, then lags between each submenu
- The joystick is the only button to manipulate the monitor's settings, and you cannot go directly into the OSD, you must first press the joystick, wait for the menu to pop up, then press up to get to the actual OSD
- You cannot see the monitor's refresh rate in the OSD without digging for it, on Asus monitors the refresh rate is always shown in the OSD in the "title bar"
- No "deep sleep" toggle to disable deep sleep. If you've wondered why it takes so long for monitors to wake from sleep, this is why
- Yes, the motion clarity isn't the best
- There is slight vignetting, this was not present on my old IPS 280Hz

Pros:
- You can easily create custom resolutions (unlike goysync monitors)
- Cheap

Lo compre y lo uso principalmente para juegos FPS creo que es su principal uso, aunque no dudo que se le saque partido para otro tipo de tareas, la velocidad es excelente a 280Hz, se ve excelente en cuanto a backlight bleeding debo decir que la unidad que me toco no tiene lo cual me sorprende bastante ya que es IPS considero que la calidad que tiene Alienware es muy buena tal vez por encima de ASUS ROG, pero pues cada quien habla como le va en la fiesta, ya llevo un par de meses usando el monitor sin mayor problema y no tengo tema en recomendarlo por calidad precio creo que esta muy cumplidor, obvio no es barato pero tampoco es lo mas caro.

I did a ton of research and ended up with this for $399 on Amazon. Couldn't be happier. Boxed well. Beautiful, heavy, well made monitor. Have barely fiddled with the settings but the depth of color is insane. Super clear and bright. Blacks are perfect. Was looking at Benq and Asus as well. Height adjustment and tilt is great. Easy to use adjustment settings. 27" is big enough in my world. Some gaming and desktop usage.

This monitor exceeded my expectations for the price.
-Vibrant color saturation
-Excellent Clarity
-No Dead Pixels
-180hz OC
-No noticable blooming
-Zero ghosting
-Thin matte finish with no noticable dirty screen effect on a white background.

I tend to game in sdr, but surprisingly this monitor has rather decent hdr for the price I paid for it. $400cnd (not sure why it had a $100 price jump recently)

The screen can also reach 600nits of brightness.
The 4k equivalent to this monitor is the Corsair 32uhd144hz which I also own.
The display is rather identicle except for the resolution obviously but at a fraction of the price.

1440p is definitely the sweet spot for pc gaming. I use the 4k monitor for my ps5.

The leds are customizable to match any rgb setup which is also a plus.

For those wondering it does not have an hdmi 2.1, I've seen a lot of controversy over the internet whether if it did or not so just wanted to clarify.

Overall I highly recommend this monitor if its for your pc. Would look at other options for console gaming.
