If you have any wrinkles in the liner it just stops dead in its tracks and sits there until the battery dies. Edit: 11 days since this was delivered and the status indicator lights are saying motor is flooded. This unit is now unusable. Total junk product.

I expected more from this little robot. When I first used it, the thing worked great. But after two weeks of use it doesn’t want to go more than 2 feet before it stops. I see the flaps go up and down but it won’t move more than 2 feet. Then it just sits there trying to move. I have an above ground pool that is only 16’ around. According to the description it should clean the bottom 2 or 3 times before running out of battery power but it just sits there until the battery dies. Would not recommend to others.
Update: after this review Apier reached out to me and offered a full refund or a an upgraded seagull plus. I chose to give the new model a shot and have been very happy with it. Plus they told me to keep the original model. I didn’t know this kind of customer service still existed. Thank you apier for the great service.

I really wanted to love this device. Cool looking, feels solid. BUT…

There are two small intake slots and two larger discharge outlets that must toggle correctly to propel the sweeper and to reverse it at the pool wall.

The slots and outlets are toggled open & close by hard plastic flaps. Because all surfaces are plastic, the flaps don’t open/close freely, but often stick in one position.

This poor execution means that the sweeper would often stick in one location because the “reverse discharge” (to turn the unit around) would be stuck closed providing no propulsion.

Great idea. Poor results!

Speed - understandable due to sticking discharge.
Ease of cleaning - doesn’t perform correctly, thus it was never dirty.
Ease of use - easy if it worked.
Battery life - over an hour. Seemed good.
Charging - it did recharge in only 2 to 3 hours. Very satisfactory.

LIKES: Loved the fact it picked up more than I thought it would. I’d have to say there was at least 1/2lb of sand. Our pool handy been vacuumed in 6-8mo because I had back surgery. No More Hoses! Almost 100% charged fresh out of the box. Battery ran a full 90min. Moves quickly! Easy to clean.

DISLIKES: NO MANUAL in the box. Does not climb walls but I knew that ahead of time. Got stuck 3x on sloped curve at bottom of walls and I had to move it.

I WOULD buy again! Glad I found it on sale!
