I purchased this phone because I wanted a smaller cell phone, and it fits my small hands. I was not looking for the latest, greatest high tech, so I am not reviewing any of that. It is my ideal size except for the thickness and weight. The phone does all of the regular things I have tried, plus some cool extra features, like a really bright flashlight I have used as a work light in my basement. The phone works with Consumer Cellular (I was concerned, because CC uses ATT towers, most Unihertz phones are not on ATT's list).

In general a solid phone for everything but the rear camera.
The rear camera is plain simple trash.
All the other parts are good, i would even say better than good. The navigation is alright. It is a 4g phone. So do not expect Lte speed.
    It works great on Tmobile.
That rear camera cannot take an average decent picture even with a lot of light. It is just a really bad camera...
Plain and simple trash camera and the camera app does not have features that even low budget phones have today.
Unihertz you need to put out some serious camera app update. It is not a suggestion, It is a necessity if as company you want to support this great hardware.
Hope Unihertz read this. I would be willing to get the second more polished version of this phone.

I have a few different Unihertz phones. The OS is actually really minimalistic. Nearly stock android. The phones always run smoothly. This uses the Unihertz OS. The only complaint I ever have is the camera. But the phone is excellent. Light is bright, rangefinder is accurate, tools are great. You should have this as part of a disaster kit. It can charge your other devices, provide you light, electricity, and a number of offline tools if you find the right apps.

    the Good:
    Small
Some-what durable with metal frame but it has Panda glass not gorilla glass.
    Android 13
    Long battery life
No projector, been replaced with a lazer measuring device i would not trust measuring anything.

    The Bad:
    Bulky
    heavy
side buttons are very touchy and will turn stuff on in your pocket
    No OLED screen
The screen is too touchy in my view even with the screen locked the quick menu still scrolls from the top in my pocket and turns stuff on. I'll go back to flagship Samsung after experiencing using this.

Had a Unihertz Atom XL. When the battery wasn't performing as well. I "upgraded" to a Blackview N6000. The N6000 was missing a headphone jack and SD card slot. After owning the Blackview for only 3 months, I saw this phone and had to get it. So far its everything the Unihertz Atom XL was and way more. This is a fantastic phone and strongly recommend. This company isn't afraid to put features in a phone.

Does not work with a single United States cell phone carrier. I have copied and pasted the IMEI number on over a dozen websites and not a single SIM card will work with this phone. I've tried it with my Verizon and my T-Mobile does not work. So the short of it you cannot activate this phone in the United States. It is useless.

It's a solid little brick that works with Verizon. Note: the SIM card must first be registered with an active Verizon phone. The card can then be moved to the Tank Mini. Verizon will note the change and confirm via email.

The downside is that the Tank Mini does not appear to support eSIMs, which are extremely useful and inexpensive when traveling in different countries. There are two SIM card slots, so that is "Plan B".

5.0 out of 5 stars Really good phone
Reviewed in Canada on April 8, 2024
Its small but its packs as much punch as another mid tier phone.

Charges super quick and its not so bad in the pockets.

What I love is that your apps dont get killed needlessly. Blackview reviewed their software and the n6000 sucks bad. Get the tank mini instead. More bang for your buck.

Been a week now and honestly I still like it.

Edit: june 28th 2024. New update and the phone just works better. Im not a fan boy. First tank from 8849 for me. I am very surprised how this is very reliable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Powerful little phone
Reviewed in Canada on June 1, 2024
TL;DR: Seven weeks of use and this phone is fantastic. I’m not someone who lives on their phone or needs it for work. I use it for phone calls, some texting and searching for things when away from home, e.g. checking store inventory, ordering a pizza, getting directions, looking up information. The only time I use Youtube is to show somebody something funny and I don’t play games on it.

    Reason for purchase:
My previous phone was a Moto G Pure and even though the size of the phone isn’t the biggest, I wanted something smaller, more one-hand use.

    Typing:
My initial concern was typing for texts, web searches, maps etc. The keyboard I use is Gboard and when not in public I use voice to text for any text entry, e.g. texts, searches, maps etc. If I’m in public I don’t want to be “that” person so I use my thumb to swipe in the text. At first it was a bit awkward with such a small keyboard but after a week I was able to swipe text fairly accurately with less “fat thumbing”. Most of the time I prefer to use one hand and swipe with my thumb, but if I want to increase accuracy I’ll hold the phone in one hand and swipe with my other hand’s index finger which is easier but less convenient.

    Notifications:
My previous version of Android was 12 and when I first setup this phone I noticed I wasn’t getting any audible notifications. After some digging around I noticed that all the notification sounds I had (texts, WhatsApp, email) were set to “none”. Apparently this is the default behaviour for Android 13. At first I thought this was annoying, but then realized this was the perfect opportunity to clean up my notifications so that I only get the ones I want. Yes it took some time, but in the end I’m no longer bothered with irrelevant notifications.

    Battery:
The battery really is fantastic. With moderate use, the BatteryBot app says that my last full charge was 95 hours and 51 minutes ago (basically 4 days) and my current charge is 32% with another 10 hours and 8 minutes until fully drained. Plugging it in with the provided charger it says I will be fully charged in 1 hour 58 minutes.

    Weight:
What you will notice is the weight of the phone. At first I was a bit taken back, but when I compared it to the weight of my Moto G Pure the Tank Mini was only 30 grams heavier. Being a little heavier makes this phone feel rock solid in my hand.

    Size:
Yes this is a smaller phone by its height and width, but it’s a thick phone. To be honest I prefer the dimensions of this phone and find it more comfortable to use for longer conversations. Because of its thickness I don’t have to cradle the phone in my fingertips when making a call. The phone rests against my palm like landline phones used to, which means no tired fingers or the phone slipping out of my fingers while in the middle of a call. Combine this with its weight and the phone feels comfortable and snug while making calls.

    Car mount:
I found a car mount on Amazon that words very well for this smaller form factor. It holds the phone in place really well and is very secure on the air vent. Search Amazon for “Lamicall Car Vent Phone Mount – 2023” to see what it is. This mount has come in handy when using Google Maps for driving.

    Apps:
It has a ton of apps built in, such as a distance measuring tool, a level, compass, picture handing tool, pedometer, magnifier, protractor, speedometer and a warning siren/alarm which I’m pretty sure people will use just once to see what it is. It has a normal flashlight which is the camera flash, but I prefer using the camping light which is BRIGHT! Even with it’s size I haven’t had any problems with other apps, e.g. Banking, WhatsApp, Email, Kasa, SmartLife. I’ve even used Google Maps without any problems. Apps that have barcodes that get scanned for points (e.g. grocery store app) work as expected. I can’t speak about NFT as I prefer not to have my entire financial life on my phone.

NOTE: This does have a built-in IR app (ZazaRemote) for controlling TVs and other devices but I won’t be using it. When I started it up the first time the permissions request was ridiculous (see attached screenshot). It wants to connect to any open WiFi, know your location, wants access to pretty much everything on your phone etc. I’m sorry, but a remote control app doesn’t need to know anything other than the make and model of the TV I’m trying to control. I went on Google Play Store and found an app that doesn’t collect or transmit any data (TVRemote).

    Screen Protector:
Good news, it comes with a screen protector already installed as well as a spare in the box.

    One annoyance:
The volume buttons on are the left side of the phone and the power button is on the right side at the same height. Because they are the same height I find myself (being left handed) pressing the volume down button with thumb while trying to push the power button with my index finger. This results in a screen-shot which I then have to go and delete. It doesn’t happen every time and you get used to pressing the power button without “squeezing” the phone, but it’s still annoying and I haven’t found a way of deactivating this “feature”.

I’m not someone who pays several hundreds of dollars on smart phones. The two phones I had previously were $120-$160 so spending double on this one was a risk I thought worth taking, and I’m glad I did.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
Look, I won't beat around the bush. I have concerns about the data that is sent elsewhere by the manufacturer. This creates significant security concerns for me as it relates to privacy, financial data, as well as other data I routinely carry.

Now to speak to the device. HEAVY. Well built. Expandable. A ton of features especially as it relates to the trades, however using and accessing them over traditional means and methods may hinder project development rather than help.

Rugged. This thing can take a beating. Its small form factor means it will stand up in a pocket or pouch easily, and you won't be searching for your phone.

Android 13 comes standard flavour, expandable storage also helps - remind me again why companies stopped doing this?

In all, security concerns aside, a good entry level 4G phone for the budding tradesman.

Good things: battery last for several days, and charges very fast.
Bad things: It is supposed to have 12 GB o RAM, but it's slow and it blocks too often, using WhatsApp, Teams, or just an internet browser.
It fails to give notifications even if the app is allowed to send them.
It does not have a Gallery app to see the pictures, I always have to see them using the camera app.
It never download the media received by SMS. It stays downloading the file for ever.

I honestly think that I loose my money, and will have to buy another cellphone.
