Ring power supply works as it should and expect. There are a few issues tho. The supplied cable clips are way over the top for such a small cable. These are the ones pictured to the left of image. The clips pictured on the right are a much better solution when running the cable. These are Vimark 3-5mm Round Clips part number 1M1131WHA.Another point to note is when using to power a Ring Outdoor Siren, the identification for the polarity as per instructions is wrong - both positive and negative are the same. A simple check with a multimeter does identify the positive, but not very good if you don't own a meter.

This unit unlike all the cheaper alternatives is silent and stays cold. After reading reviews on all the cheaper transformers about being so noisy that folk unplugged them, i decided that buying the original official Ring power supply unit was a ‘no brainer’ and the best, safest way to go. It has been specifically designed for use with their own ring doorbells and camera gear so obviously they are matched much better to their equipment than the cheaper generic versions. It is literally totally silent. It comes with 10 cable clips that match the wire thickness which are hard to find in hardware stores (20 would have been much better) , the screws that come with the clips are quite heavy duty and bulky and have a long size (1”) too long for fitting to skirting boards in my opinion so i replaced all the original clip bolts with small 1/2” self tapping screws that were far less visible to the eye (in photo), i predrilled tiny primer holes to avoid splitting the skirting board wood as i positioned all mine along the bottom edge of the skirting along the carpet line.

The wiring of Doorbell cameras is simple as it does not matter which way round the cables are connected from the AC adapter, but apparently they do have to be strictly correct polarity for chimes and other Ring hardware (but not ring doorbells) , a ridge on one of the wires signifies a certain polarity for those scenarios but for my ring doorbell 4 camera it didnt matter so i just fitted then how i felt fit.

Everything shows as ‘hardwired’ in the app and all is functioning absolutely perfectly. Love it! i would recommend this AC power supply to anyone using Ring products because it is silent and has the correct electrical rating for the matched Ring equipment. Its might cost £10 more a at £22 but its worth the extra for piece of mind and silence safe operating👍

Having previously ordered a Ring 2nd Gen video bell on Black Friday week, we were happy with the item but soon noticed that the battery would last a month at at time. We previously had a transformer in the house for previous resident's doorbell, but with it being old, and not wanting to fiddle with household electrics, I looked for a power supply for the bell. Having read reviews on third party models and some issues, I opted for the official Ring model. It arrived well packed, with a selection of interchangeable plug ends, depending on your location.
Also included was a bag of cable clips/screws - have used these, but frankly they look and are hidious- will swap these out for normal cable clips in new year from local DIY shop. Installation was easy- drill a hole through door frame where the Ring Door bell is, run the (very long) cable through using a coat hanger or cable feeder, attach the spade connectors to the screw terminal, plug in power pack to test and then clip/tidy cables. The supplied cable on the power pack is 6 meters, so plenty to run to nearest power outlet. The power supply also charges the battery, so now we have our Ring showing "Hardwired" in the app and the battery at full power should there be a power outage.

For 100% compatibility, stick with the official charger- the price break is good, and you know that it will work/be supported. Highly recommended.

We purchased this add on to our Ring doorbell as we did not want to have to worry about changing batteries in the doorbell.

This is a neat adapter which enables you to charge your ring doorbell, and not have to disconnect it to charge manually. It’s easy to install, just unscrew the screws at the back of the device and attach the clips by re-screwing the screws back.
