I’ve had this phone now for 10 months. It came very new looking but the battery life was sub-optimal and considerably below what was advertised as the guaranteed minimum. I contacted the seller and despite there apparently being a Amazon guarantee on the item, the seller told me that as I was outside of the 30 day usual limit (only just btw), I was not eligible for a refund. The most they could do was get me to send back the phone and they would ‘take a look at it’. This would leave me without any phone for probably somewhere in the region of 10-14 days, possibly longer because of the postal strikes. They refused to send me out a temporary phone so that I had something to use and to put my phone stuff onto it.
Since then, (that was end of last year), the phone has got steadily worse. It runs very hot, so much so that I cannot use it at the same time as charging it for fear it might explode. Also, I am scared to charge it for long periods because of the heat, and so charge it in bursts to keep the heat levels safe. I can’t use the torch function for any length of time because it gets really hot and starts freezing. In fact it regularly freezes, runs very very slow and has weird glitches eg when I’m composing a message or a post, it suddenly starts deleting it and can’t be stopped. The freezing thing is a daily event.
Recently it has started doing something really funky and seriously worrying; it goes into ‘unavailable’ mode. This is a random thing and not in any way related to putting in the wrong passcode. I’m actually at the point that I am terrified that at some point it will permanently lock me out! Today it locked me out for 1 hour - this was not as a result of any wrongly inputted passcode, just purely random. When I read up about this, should I get locked out permanently, the only way to remedy it is to wipe the phone and lose all data - so be really aware of this issue and back up regularly!
This is all awful and not at all what should be expected from a phone that was touted as ‘renewed’. I was especially annoyed by all this because Amazon’s guarantee seems somewhat flimsy if you actually need to use it.
Bad customer service!!!!!
