General Santa Anna, leader of the Mexican Army, has emerged victorious at the Alamo - inflicting a brutal defeat on the Texians in his determination to quell their rebellion. Amidst the ashes of the massacre, he sends Emily West, one of the few women survivors, to recount the horrors she has seen to his nemesis, Texan leader General Samuel Houston.

Buffalo Hump, leader of the Comanches, observes an Indian attack on Emily West's wagon train from afar, and makes his own plans to use the Texas uprising to his advantage.
