This back-up phone is rapidly becoming my regular phone and replacing my smartphone, which is now relegated to being a glorified tablet. I'm no longer unnecessarily checking the news, Twitter, etc. when I'm out and about. Having said that, you can check email on this phone if you desperately need to. The battery life is impressive, it's incredibly light and small, it's simple to use. The only downside is that's a pain to write texts the old-fashioned way with buttons, but at least it keeps messages short.
