Sound is pretty good and outperforms what I expect from its size. No complaints here.
This delivers Alexa with the added extra of a useful display, does it do more than that, no but that’s the beauty of it. It’s not overcrowded with useless features no one uses or are only half baked. Quite refreshing actually.

Really pleased with it. Looks nice and stylish. Very easy to set up and use. The clock face is very clear and adjusts brightness automatically for light conditions (goes red at night and still very clear to read but not intrusive at all). The weather icons are nice to see on the screen and it also shows details of what music you are playing etc. Finally, the speaker quality for playing music is great for such a small unit.
This is far too expensive for such limited features.
To begin, you have a very limited choice of just 6 clock faces, and only 6 display colour options. Bizarrely, there's no red option, which is the main colour I need as I suffer from intense migraines. I'd have expected it to offer primary coloured themes at the very least!
The screen is very obviously a square cutout, which doesn't look good in the light. It makes it look a bit cheap.
The power port is at the back, and the connector sticks out quite a way, so it cannot be placed flush against the wall.
Another issue is the way it turns off "night mode" randomly, instead showing the track that's playing with a tiny click that can't be seen unless you're right next to it.
You have to ask it to display the home screen to get night mode back on and display the clock, which wakes my partner up. The 3rd picture is what it was displaying at 5am instead of the night mode clock.
The overall sound is good, and heavy on the bass. However I've discovered it crackles and distorts when playing certain white noise tracks. My other devices handle white noise just fine.
It's very easy to set up, and was already linked to my amazon account.
It does perform well, responding quickly to commands.
I just wish it had a few more features. It really is incredibly overpriced for something so basic.

I think that’s one of this products best selling point… looks. It features a small display (which when brightened has an obvious backlight box cutout), and a dedicated good sounding speaker. Obviously, with it being an Echo product, it also controls your home, calls people, plays music for you… and so on.
The colours available are great, making it customisable and ready for any room (like mine).
The UI of the product is nice and smooth (as you’d expect at this price point and release year).
The only thing I would say is that the display cut off is really frustrating, I wish it had a curved display that utilised its circular space!
If your looking for an Echo device that matches a small space with big features, this is the one.

Screen: I think the screen is perfect for what the device is. Could have been better with a smart phone kinda screen and a little more responsive, but not a problem for me. There's not much screentime with this so I don't mind it.
Display: The display is very OK. The brightness OK. Just a slight issue. The night mode clock display could be dimmer with more emphasis on the time itself, but it's not bright enough to disturb your sleep. So not a problem.
Speaker & connectivity : This is what I love the most about this device. I'm a sucker for good sound and the quality coming out of it is perfect. I also like that you can adjust the bass quality, cos it could be really bassy.
Alexa has been quite responsive on it. I've been able to give prompts without hassles.
Would highly recommend

And a cool little device it is. It sounds great, the half screen half speaker look suits it. The display with time and weather on it is easily readable and unobtrusive at night time.
However it is with the screen and its features where the new one falls short of the old one. For example, why can’t I add my photos? On the original echo spit it can cycle you photos from Amazon photos like the echo shows can, and I loved that. It was very cool to see them all pop up.
The second thing is that while it does have functionality with Ring doorbells, you can’t see it. Which seems like an oversight. The screen is large enough to be able to make out what’s at the door and so on.
So in my own estimation, it’s good. It could be great.
