I bought Moto Edge 40 Neo phone to replace my old Moto G8+ as my old phone got burned pixels on display after 5 years of use.In the box (which was filled with a nice scent) was phone, charger, cable, manual, protective back case.Display is great with true black colour so you can enjoy movies/videos without the typical "backlight grey" during the dark scenes. I did take few pictures in outdoor setting with clouds + variations in light and quality is really good.Sound is good, with Dolby Atmos and equaliser settings to your liking.Set up was easy with Moto prompting to transfer data from old phone to the new one, I used the new cable from the box to do this as over the WiFi it would be much slower. Software updates and download of applications took about 2 hours with frequent restarts required which is understandable - getting the phone up to speed with the newest version of security patches and updates.Battery life with location, data and WiFi switched on with mixed daily use (watching videos, reading articles, and also occasional screen off time) is roughly half a day thanks to 5000mAh battery. Charging from cca 30% to 100% took around 30 minutes (there is setting for rapid or optimal charge on the phone) with charger + cable provided in the box.256GB internal memory and 12GB RAM (with option to share extra from internal memory) is sufficient for regular user. There is no slot for extended memory card as it has only 1 SIM slot (I haven't tried to use e-SIM to see if that would then enable use of SD card). No 3.5mm headphones jack - you can buy USB-C to 3.5mm jack adaptor or use wireless headphones. As it is with other Moto phones this one also comes with Moto UI where you can set up visuals, fonts, etc. There is also a lot of Moto apps which are useful if you have smart home and lot of devices to share or screencast to.Navigation and positioning are both good. I have been driving between towns and had no issues with position accuracy and I also tried to find my way in remote forests on holiday in Europe (I didn't get lost so must be working 😄).I don't consider myself very heavy phone user but I think for this price it packs some great stuff and it's worth buying.

In general I am a massive phone and gadget snob. Always have to have top spec everything. Recently ditched a Pixel 7 Pro I purchased the same month it was released due to breaking it.
Decided to give myself a £400 budget, was looking at used and new phones. To be honest it was getting annoying, nothing stood out or was worth the money.
I randomly came across the Edge 40 Neo, loved the blue with the leather back it looked so good.

12gb RAM, 256gb Memory, IP68 and 68W charging, 144HZ refresh rate, with an acceptable camera configuration. Plus duel sim.
All this for £299. Literally a bargain. They also give you a 68W charger in the box which no one does these days.
Almost forgot, they also give you a colour match hard case in the box I mean come on...
Really bright screen as well

The only thing missing in my opinion to finish this off would be wireless charging, but let's remember you get all of the above for £299 that's insane. Had this for a few days now. Read some reviews saying shocking battery, not sure if they had a faulty phone.

I am a heavy user. On my phone constantly for work calls, sending messages, YouTube and the battery comfortabley lasts a day.
Used the charger for the first time, it was insane. Never had a phone that charged so quickly. Such a convenient feature to have.

I am not easily impressed, I love a flagship phone. But this has genuinely made me rethink my views on phones.
This is a lot for the money, it looks fresh as hell and feels great in your hand.

Motorola have really impressed me with this. It sets a high bar for phones. If this had a £499+ price tag it would still be a very good phone for the money!

So far, so good. The only negative if you could even cal it one is the choice of ringtones is very small and the are a bit pony.
Had to download a standard "ring, ring"... But that was a minor.

Motorola have smashed this out the park.
Honestly nothing within this price range even comes remotely close. I can't even think of a phone that cost twice this price new that compares realistically.

Camera takes clear good photos.
Crystal clear display. Super fast charging and the best lasting charge I have had on a phone.
Plenty of storage for the apps I have.
Easy transfer of data from old phone.
I dropped my phone from a grandstand at a racing event about 20 feet, landed face first on hardcore. No cracks on the glass just a small crack at the bottom of the case that came with it and a couple of dents in the same case. Well impressed.

Really impressed with this phone, I'm done with 18month contracts and £1000 handsets. It's a fallacy for the price I paid for this Moto Edge 40 Neo I am blown away fast charging, great camera, great screen upto 144hz!, excellent ease of use features and stereo speaker set up. What ever formula Moto / Lenovo used for this they nailed it.

For context I'v come from an iphone 14 (boring and screw apples AI) and used S22s, a flip Oppo N2 etc.

I am happy don't feel mugged off and just have a phone that does it's job, I don't game on it so speed wise day to day it is as fast as all the above.

Bought May 2024 so updates have likely made it stable since the early reviews.
