Best camera in any smartphone, wish it had a faster Snapdragon SoC
This is a great device for people who are not used to having a microSD card. As I have come from having 128GB+256GB storage and that is a big difference to the non expandable 128GB on this. It is fine for most but for me I need more.I also noticed this doesnt charge with any of my Huawei fast chargers, which is odd. I ca. Charge my 3 year old Mate 20 pro at 40W and this and iPhone 12 tops out at 18W. Strange time we live in.It does take the most accurate picture I've ever seen in any device including DSLRs as it's algorithm makes it take sunning pictures everytime including wide and selfie. I take lots of pictures but find I'm waiting it to process the HDR+ most of the time.Overall this it's a the best Android experience at a okay price point.

I've been nothing but impressed with the Google Pixel 4a 5G. I've had a Nokia 8 the past couple of years, which was real bargain with great specs and a pure Android experience. I was a bit worried that the Pixel might feel like a step down, to a lower resolution screen, a plastic rather then metal body, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 instead of 5.

But not so, I don't notice the resolution difference, the screen looks just as clear and is larger to boot. And I actually prefer the plastic body now - it feels great and solid, and is more grippy then metal meaning I drop it less. And the glass screen feels just the same - from some research it seems that Gorilla Glass 3 is just as scratch resistant at 5, but a little less impact (ie drop) resistant.

I'm also finding the phone much snappier to use and the camera is better in every way - better shots and quicker to open and use. The ability to use Wifi for calls is the main reason I upgraded, due to poor reception where I live, and it does this well. I was also attracted by the pure Android experience and 3 years of OS and security updates.

The one thing I don't like is that I can't seem to remove the google search bar from the front screen - this is annoying as I never use it and it takes up space. Shame, as it tars an otherwise great experience with the Google Pixel 4a 5G (hope whoever came up with the naming system has been found another job at Google HQ).

Fantastic value for money and near flagship spec. The speaker fault has been rectified to with a software update. Took only a few minutes to set up with the adapter lead which syncs all your data. My old phone was a Samsung S9 and it all synced without a hitch. Well impressed with the pure Android experience too with no bloatware and all updates guaranteed for 3 years. Currently running on Android 11, fast and fluid. Camera is awesome which is the main reason why I bought this phone. Lots of features, filters, video slow downs and speed ups, ultra wide angles too. Again to sum up, for not a lot of money you get a fantastic phone which blows a lot of highly priced mobiles of the market.

I LOVE this phone.

Camera is excellent. Battery life good. It's responsive. You still get Google photos storage for free. NFC great for Google Pay. GPS responsive. Sound excellent. Screen very clear. Call quality superb.

If I was to be very picky:
Screen could be a bit brighter - outside it is sometimes a little too dark.
No face recognition on this model due to a missing chip. Shame.
No wireless charging

It of those the very picky things, really it's only the screen brightness which is the one I'd seriously wish for.

So, in my view, it's a great phone. Camera (and particularly video stabilisation) is superb. Very happy with it

I got it on sale for £399 and at that price I can highly recommend it.

The software experience of stock android is pretty good, it's fast and can run multiple apps at the same time, and storing them in ram and then opening them up again later on is always quick. I've hardly ever had any stutters and dealing with finance and work apps is a breeze. The only issue is a software one with the weather app sometimes disappearing, that's not the phones fault but Android and you just reselect the widget to get it back - it's only happened a few times and is not really a big deal.

The finger print scanner on the back is really fast and I prefer it to an under display one or face unlock.

The camera is really great, the night mode is great and super useful, portrait mode is also really good at blurring out the background and keeping the focus on the person you're taking the photo of. The only slight issue is that it can take a second or two to fully process the photo to view it which is only a problem if you're used to a £1k flagship but you get what you pay for.

The OLED screen is nice but it's not the brightest, and to see it in bright sunlight you have to turn the brightness to max. Also, it's only 60hz but I don't really see the point of a higher refresh rate screen unless you're really into FPS games on your phone.

It had a headphone jack which is a huge plus, fast charging is OK but other cheaper phones now do much faster charging. The speakers are ok in most conditions though on a busy street I wish they were a little louder.

The battery life is great, with moderate use I can get a couple of days easy so no need to worry about it dying.

In terms of gaming this can comfortably run Genshin Impact on low settings without getting too hot, and Call Of Duty on high as well.

Lastly, the other great selling point of this phone is support. You get increased Google Photos storage if that is relevant to you and you get 3 more Android updates, it comes with Android 11 so you'll get Android 14 when that comes out. Security updates are pretty much monthly too.

Coming from an S20 and I do not miss the bells and whistles. This is so smooth, great camera and overall the valilla android is just as fluid as an apple device but without the sillly price tag.

At £400.00 in the sale this is ridiculously good value. Only downsides if this matters to you are no IP rating, wireless charging and it is made from plastic.

It isn't a cheap feeling plastic, the haptics are top notch and the overall presentation is great.

It just goes to show that you would be silly to spend £1,000+ for a phone.

Processor is just as fast as the high end, might be half a second slower fornintence games bit of I want to play intensive games I have an Xbox for that!

I don't like the cost of smart phones in general.
In the end my son recommended this, and a case.
But he overlooked (I did too, but he's the expert) that it is 5G. His is not.
So it came with the wrong case. Returned and the correct one is coming soon...
My old phone was a BLU Life One X2. There is literally no comparison.
My only concern is how long it will last.

La verdad el mejor celular que he comprado, gama Media con caracterísitcas de gama alta sin ser over-the-top.... Vengo de usar varios celulares AndroidOne (que no tienen bloatware, o sea apps que no sirven o que son de la marca) y este upgrade a Google puro pues me cae muy bien. Si estás muy metido en el mundo Samsung o Xiaomi pues allá tú, no es un iPhone killer pero muy bueno para el día a día, la pila me dura un día normal de 8 horas, no tienes que andar buscando donde cargar pero tampoco dura 2 días.

Ya salió el 5a5g entonces por el precio que está ahorita es una gangota creo que lo compré por 4 mil pesos mas y no me arrepiento, si lo quieres ahorita adelante

Me parece un móvil brutal, buenísima calidad-precio. Vengo de un One plus Nord, que ya al poco me dio problemas con la batería y después la huella. Y ya me harté y lo devolví, menos mal que aún podía devolverlo. Y ahora con este estoy realmente encantada.

Me gusta muchísimo que es muy intuitivo, muy fácil de usar, con todo lo de Google integrado sin perder los contactos o las fotos de un móvil a otro. Tiene una cámara espectacular, en especial en las fotos de noche, que salen con muchísimos matices, contraste, color y sin nada de ruido. Cumple todos los requisitos del móvil que quería: batería que dure, cámara muy buena, sistema android, mucho espacio, google fotos, y todo lo de google de serie, sin tener que borrar la aplicación de Galería (que en muchos no se puede) y sin tener que estar actualizando con un cable o pasando las fotos al ordenador, etc., con NFC para pagar contactless, con conector de audio sin tener que depender de la batería de los auriculares, te coges los de con cable y listo. Muy práctico y muy cómodo, también el tamaño.
