WORKS WITH PPPoE IN UK

WORKS WITH PPPoE IN UK
I read a lot of the reviews about this not working with UK providers, but this has been fixed, and the latest firmware now supports PPPoE. There is no need to bridge or double nat the router any longer. I connected the eero to my existing router first with an ethernet cable, got the eero app to upgrade the eero firmware which was very easy to do, then disconnected my old router and changed the eero networking settings to pppoe. Entered my credentials for my provider and it all just worked. I was also able to use the existing wifi name and password so all the existing devices on the network didn't need to be setup again, they just connected seamlessly to the eero. You will still need a fibre modem to connect to your phone socket, (but not mandatory, you can still use your old router to connect to the phone socket, just disable the WiFi on the old router), then connect the eero to the modem. These are typically a lot smaller than the routers provided by the internet providers and can be hidden a lot more easily than the bulky routers supplied by the providers. The coverage is about the same as the old router. I would recommend getting at least one extender or an additional router for better coverage. Also be aware that the extenders don't include any lan sockets, only the routers have the lan sockets. As a result I bought two routers so that I had the option of using the second router as an extender which benefits from having the lan sockets. Setting up the second router was also really easy in the app.The app allows profiles to be created and certain devices can be added to each profile. This way you can have your children's devices on a kids profile which has parental controls to prevent inappropriate content from making its way onto their devices. You can also pause the access to the profile too if needed. It also has an ad blocker feature.NOTE: The ad blocker and parental controls is a subscription based feature and costs extra on a monthly or annual subscription basis. I wasn't impressed when I found this out, so at least you are aware of this now too.The app also has a nice guest network feature. Simply enable the guest network for your friends to connect to. It automatically creates a new wifi name for them to connect to and creates a new password for that network, keeping your main network ring-fenced from your guest's devices.I had problems connecting my printer as it uses WPS which is now outdated, so am still struggling to get it working. The router provides access to a 2.4 GHz and a 5GHz network so old devices on 2.4GHz with still be able to connect without any issue.I haven't tried to use the built in Zigbee home hub yet, so I can't comment on that at this point. I will update this review once I have. All in all, a nice little router, with a handy app. Much nicer looking than the old router from my internet provider, and the app is much easier to use compared to the admin page on the old router.I would have given it 5 stars if the parental controls and ad blocker features were included as standard. This was disappointing to find out it came with an additional charge.PS: I have also discovered that the LED light on the device can be turned off from within the app. This is useful if you have a router in a bedroom as the light can be quite bright. A nice little feature.

Main Eero router did not cover the back of my house as it was installed at the very front, but the extender gives me good coverage everywhere

I am absolutely thrilled with the Ogi FTTP (Wales only) service, and the cherry on top is the inclusion of 2 eero 6 mesh routers along with the security package for free! Living in a home with solid walls, I was concerned about dead spots and connectivity issues, but these routers have performed flawlessly throughout my house. No more dead spots – it's a dream come true!

The security suite is a game-changer. With features like ad blocking, malware and spyware scans, and comprehensive parental controls including app and site blocking, it provides peace of mind for my family's online activities. And let me tell you, you can indeed access the full functionality of these routers, contrary to what some skeptics might say. They work like a charm, and I'm thoroughly impressed.

Setting up the system was a breeze, and I particularly love the option to create a guest connection for visitors that can be easily wiped afterwards. What's more, all my Amazon products integrate seamlessly with this setup, and even my Hive home hub works fantastically well. I haven't encountered any issues so far, and when combined with the top-notch service from the FTTP provider, it's a major upgrade from our previous BT products.

I'm delighted to recommend the Ogi FTTP service with the eero 6 mesh routers and security package. It's a true winner in terms of performance, security features, and user-friendliness. If you're looking for a reliable, comprehensive, and hassle-free solution for your internet and home networking needs, this is the one to go for. Kudos to the team behind this fantastic offering!

I have had this for several days now. I've recently changed BB providers, now with YouFibre. Speeds are much faster around the house but I was left with a dead spot in an the upstairs room.
After no help from youfibre, I read the reviews and decided on this extender.. I followed the instructions but had no joy. Despite it being "plug in and good to go", it wasn't doing anything, I was about to box it up and return it...
My last attempt!! I pressed and held the reset button on the rear until the blue pairing light appeared, (that's the bit not mentioned in the instructions). Using the simple App , Finaly paired with the router!!
Now I have great coverage.

As a Virgin media customer my broadband has always been very good. However, with the increasing number of connected devices in a modern home, the WiFi had issues. These were not speed related issues but issues like devices disconnecting, smart bulbs and smart plugs not responding etc. This usually resulted in rebooting the Virgin router. Another problem was a poor WiFi connection to the second floor.

Enter the Eero Mesh WiFi system. I positioned the main unit near my Virgin router, an extender on the first floor and the second extender on the second floor.

It was simple to setup with a network name and password. To avoid confusion with smart home devices it is recommended that your existing router is put in Modem mode. This is to prevent your existing devices from trying to connect to your old network. You will need to refer to your router instructions to do this. For my Virgin media one, putting it in modem mode stopped it connecting to the internet at all, even though ethernet cables. Fortunately, I discovered a workaround. The Virgin Media Connect app allows you to disable the WiFi on the Virgin router via the app, (it can be turned back on via the app).

Once this was complete, I connected all my devices. Devices can be labelled so you can see at a glance in the Eero app what devices are connected. It also allows you to pause the connection to an individual device, effectively disconnecting it until you unpause it. So if you notice that someone is "borrowing" your internet, you can stop them.

After using this setup for around 6 months, I really don't know how I did without it. WiFi reaches all points of the house with a stable and reliable connection. I have only rebooted the Eero system once during this time but that wasn't an Eero issue, it was the Virgin connection. I've also only rebooted the virgin router once during this time and again it was a Virgin issue causing it. The connection throughout the house is fantastic. Streaming movies and gaming on the secondfloor is a breeze.

Highly recommended to extend the WiFi throughout your home or to provide a more stable and reliable replacement for your existing router.
