Works great! But not perfect

Works great! But not perfect
I absolutely adore these. Especially the noise cancelling and fit. It really cancels noise well. I also love the customisable tap control. Also LOVE the double Bluetooth connectivity option and last know location tracker. As for dislikes, I would have to say its the phone calling aspect, the mics are amazing. Too amazing. When I call people they can hear more of my environment then I can and less of me than I'd like. They often can't hear me at all among the ambient noises. Also Alexa straight up ignores me at times, it's random phone locked or unlocked. 30% chance she responds.Still in my opinion, it is a worthwhile sacrifice for these. I think they just need some noise filtering for the calls perhaps an update could fix?

I’ve been using these for about 6 months now after my previous pair of Bluetooth earbuds failed on me. Now I don’t write reviews, however I must say, these are without a shadow of a doubt, best Bluetooth earbuds I have ever purchased. and I have gone through ALOT of earbuds.
The feel of them is heavy, matte kind of smooth, and very nice quality. The sound of audio is very high quality, almost comparable to high quality headphones. If you’re a sound nerd like me, you will not be displeased. These are tantalizingly, brilliantly eargasmly. Crisp and delicious. I love them.
They even come with your very own Alexa right in your head. You have a burning question while you’re out on a walk listening to music but it’s so cold because you’re in British weather so you don’t want to take your a hands out of your pockets? No problem, “Alexa, how are black holes created?” And she answers it just like that. The response rate from her hearing is sometimes a little off but she tries her best the poor soul is probably working overtime from all of my random nonsensical questions.
The earbuds themselves you will receive in a very posh looking box, equipped with a selection of cushions in different sizes and a c-cable charger. The battery life in these seem to last quite awhile. If we’re talking about the use of listening in one session before they die, on a full charge they will last maybe 4-6 hours. The battery case itself I will charge it approximately once a week- once a month depending on how often I am using them. The touch controls are very easy to navigate, press once to pause, double tap to skip and three times to replay the song. The touch controls also toggle pass through mode and noise cancellation modes by holding down for 2 seconds or more. Alexa will also kindly tell you which mode you just activated. The noise cancellation is more of a noise isolation. If you put them in your ears you will hear faint white noise in the background, it is quite soothing. However when you play something you can’t hear the white noise at all. Passtheoigh mode is especially handy if you’re walking through a dark area and you’re scared someone will come up behind you and potentially shank you, all without sacrificing the quality of your precious music. I must reiterate how deliciously fabulous these earbuds are.

The microphone is mediocre. In most situations people cannot hear what I'm saying. It is a pity because these ear buds are good looking, fit perfectly and the audio quality is fair, but the mic kills the product. Next time I'll spend more and buy Apple's.

I was tempted to buy these because of one of those unbelievably cheap, once only, never to be repeated deals, that you later find repeated a few months later. But, they were incredibly cheap. I normally use Apple AirPods, but they do not have noise cancellation and the tap controls are limited. So I thought I would try these. I have been alternating between the AirPods and Echo Buds. The first thing I noticed is that I can leave the AirPods on the shelf for weeks and they still have plenty of charge to use all day. However, after leaving the Echo Buds on the shelf for a few weeks and the battery is totally flat. They will not connect to my phone until plugged into a charger and recharged. I don’t know if that is a fault with Buds I have, or a general issue.

Update on battery - I spoke to Amazon support and to my surprise they confirmed that the batteries in these buds and the case will run down to flat if not used for a couple of weeks. I thought mine must be faulty, but according to Amazon, this is just what I should expect.

I don’t have enough experience with noise cancellation to compare but I would say these are OK, not brilliant, not enough for you to say, wow when you turn it on, but OK. Because of the different size rubber ear pieces the fit is much better than the AirPods and therefore, there is automatically better noise cancellation that the AirPods even when they are off. The app that helps you pick the correct size for the rubber ear piece is really useful.

*UPDATED after 3 months use* These earbuds continue to force factory reset and the whole process of manually unpairing them from every device and repairing and setting up custom settings via Alexa App is frustrating. I contacted Amazon for support and the only solution was to issue a refund after recommending another factory reset. Amazon should not sell tech items if the only support is to refund them. I am so disappointed. While I hoped I was saving money by purchasing these instead of AirPod Pros, these have turned out to cost more in terms of my time and now needing new earbuds altogether. Beware.

**UPDATED after 2-months use* These earbuds have now disconnected from my bluetooth settings over 3 times. Meaning they suddenly aren't recognised by my phone, computer or Alexa until I remove them from my bluetooth settings and pair them via the Alexa App. This is really annoying and I have no idea what could cause the issue. The buttons are also quite sensitive, so laying down in bed with these in can be quite a nuisance unless you disable the one-tap function in Alexa App settings. I also discovered that the noise cancellation doesn't seem to truly work until completing the lengthy noise/eat fit test via the Alexa App. Once I completed that, the noise cancellation seemed to actually work. I regret not purchasing another pair while they were on offer!

I am an iPhone and Mac user and I have been using my AirPod Pros 1st Gen since 2019. The battery life is deteriorating and I cannot afford new AirPod Pros, so I grabbed these Echo Buds 2 on a Prime deal. I do not have any Alexa products (I used an Echo a couple years ago but got rid of it). I would absolutely recommend this to people in a similar situation or who want a decent active noice cancelling ANC pair. I purchased another set of earphones on Amazon meant to be noise-cancelling but they didn't block any sound; these Echo Buds 2 are the real deal for those using AirPod Pros and who like the ANC.

Pros:
- Active Noise Cancelling is good (I would rate it 3.5/5 compared to AirPod Pros). Unlike AirPod Pros, for it to truly work over music, volume must be turned on a bit higher than I'd have it set on my AirPod Pros.
- Very lightweight case albeit it does feel a bit flimsy, though after 3 weeks of use no complaints)
- Sync between devices is shockingly impressive. A bit confusing and not always the best but being able to switch near flawlessly between music on my Mac and my iPhone while keeping my Echo Buds 2 in my ear is amazing.
- Ear tips. AirPods and other ear phones always fall out of my ears. These don't with the provided ear wings. No issues with them on phone calls!

Cons:
- Comfort. These certainly feel bulkier in the ear after coming from AirPods Pros for over three years. One ear actually feels uncomfortable and irritating but I suspect it's a matter of getting used to it, as was the case with my AirPods. These are SO uncomfortable to wear in bed and if your ears tap your pillow, expect for your music/video to pause because they are that sensitive to the press. I find them uncomfortable after long use in one ear but that could be an issue with my ear shape.
- Ease of use. These take some getting used to putting in yours. AirPods feel like a flawless remove and install; these feel more difficult.
- Battery life. The battery life is about as good as my AirPod Pros 1st Gen battery life after 2+ years' use. I get about 3 hours use' and the lack of battery monitoring directly from my iPhone main screen is annoying. As is the lack of a control for ANC from the Volume bar on iPhone (you can turn ANC on/off via the Alexa app or from the device itself).
- Alexa. If you are not a fan of Alexa, these are not the buds for you. You have to have the app to set up the buds and re-pair if there's ever an issue (mine suddenly disconnected after two weeks and I had to unpair and re-pair). That said, the controls in Alexa are a lot more user-friendly than Apple's own, in my opinion.

All in all, I am on a tight budget and as much as I would love to upgrade my AirPod Pros 1st Gen, the Echo Buds 2 meet my needs and more. I have actually grown quite fond of the look. These sound great and people say my voice sounds better than they did on my old AirPod Pros 1st Gen too. I would 100% recommend to a friend.
