This is lacking in predictive text (T9) and the UI isn’t as good as the Nokia candy bar phones.The text is so big that you can hardly see anything on the screen. To read simple SMS message it takes loads of scrolling!That said, it’s a useful, usable phone. Once you get used to it.Odd design choice: It has a micro SD card slot…. for some reason?!The SIM card slot is a standard size (so neither nano nor micro).I hated this for a while as I couldn’t figure out how to access the MENU. Well, the trick is to press the UP key!

An ideal phone for such as me who want an easy to read and use, simple phone. I can find it in my bag quickly and at home it stands on its charging unit ready to hand. It charges quickly, comes with a good understandable operating booklet. Once I got a SIM card for it fitted at my local phone shop I can now have it to hand and use it without taking out a contract with a phone company (I don't use the phone all day, every day, as some seem to) so I will be able top it up when I need to at my supermarket (apparently). I love the large text size so I don't have to find my glasses every time I want to use or answer it. I am now contactable when I am out and about. The family are pleased about this too!
Comment added later..... The phone stopped charging after a while - a fairly common problem, I understand. I bought a second identical one and swopped over the sim card so that I didn't lose all my contacts details etc. This way I then got a working phone again for a reasonable price. Up until now I still find this phone very good for my use, although it did take some time to get used to its controls at every stage.

Bought this for 85-year old mother in law to replace an old flip phone that she found hard to use and consequently was never charged or used properly. This phone seems to be ideal for her. The charging cradle means it can be left charged, on and in sight & hearing. The buttons and display are suitably large, the ringer loud and functionality is limited. Even then, I did not even bother mentioning the radio, music player or text features to her. Everything was easy to set up (by us, 15 mins tops, including 8 contacts and the emergency button) although the back panel is tough to prise off to fit the SIM card, so probably best not to leave it entirely to an oldie. She learned how to use it pretty easily. It is very light, so it should be easy to take into the garden or on walks, the keypad locks automatically to stop accidental calls. Only time will tell if she uses it regularly, but at the very least we have a second method of calling her to avoid an hour's drive if her landline fails (which it has on occasions).

So, the good points first; a very reasonably priced phone which is simple to use. However, there are couple of things which could be improved (particularly if, like me, you were buying this for an elderly relative). The charging cradle seemed like a very good idea at first (to avoid having to use the small, standard USB charging connector), but sadly it was herd to tell whether the phone was properly seated and charging, so this proved a bit 'hit and miss'. Audio quality is 'average' but not outstanding (nowhere near as good as the Doro we replaced it with). The buttons require a rather firm press (difficult for my mum's older fingers), but the biggest let-down was that the ring tone simply wasn't loud enough, even at maximum volume. Battery life was not as long as expected, so expect to charge this every 2 or three days after fairly light use. The phone lasted about about 18 months before it became unreliable; so not a bad phone for the price, but I wouldn't but another one.

It comes with a stand to charge it so it can sit next to the bed and always be nearby. My grandma lives on her own, so having the SOS button gives us peace of mind that as soon as she pushes that button it sends 3 of us a text message. I must admit, she does often press this by mistake, sending us into panic but it is still definitely worth having. The battery lasts 3-4 days. This phone is purely aimed at the older generation so is VERY basic, not ideal for anyone that likes to surf the net or play games, or even take photos.

I purchased this phone for a family member for Christmas and the phone itself is great. The display is clear and it is very easy to use and the phone small, so when held to the ear, just looks like a normal small modern phone. Unfortunately the other main requirement of it, was to be used with the Bluetooth in the car. The phone connected to the car and it was possible to dial numbers, but you could not see the the names in the phone book or the last numbers dialed. The car in question was a Volvo. Interestingly enough, the previous phone which was a Huawei, worked perfectly. I contacted the seller, who was very helpful and understanding. Absolutely fantastic customer service. Other than the Bluetooth/Volvo compatibility issue, the phone is a really great purchase. I especially liked the way it could be charged via dropping into the supplied dock.

I bought this for my 92 year old Mum who hates technology and is generally scared of using anything like this herself. As we can't visit her at the moment, I made up a little user guide just for her and managed to pare it down to 4 main things to know. So far, she's getting on pretty well with it. The speed dial function is great - you can add up to 9 numbers and you only have to press and hold down the relevant number for it to ring the contact. The keys are nice and big. The only drawback is that you can't control the number of rings before it goes to voicemail. I contacted the manufacturer and they got back to me to say that this is something I need to speak to the mobile contract provider to adjust. Overall very pleased with it.
