Very happy customer
I am so happy I purchased these strip lights. I have put them around my TV. On the Tapo app you can select any colour from a rainbow so the colour options are infinite. There is so much you can do with it on the app, timers, a multitude of pre programmed light changing options, sync it to music, dimmable, just loads. And with Alexa I can also just ask her to do it all for me without even opening the app.Easy to set up and apply. Best thing I’ve bought in ages. Very happy.

We added this above our wardrobe and you can see it from outside pulling up the drive, it looks so bespoke!
I have a lot of smart devices in the house and most of them are tapo. I have their plugs and a few light bulbs of theirs too. They are all controlled on the same app, which both myself and husband can use on our phones. So so easy to set up. I have mine timed to come on a different colour at 10pm every night of the week. Brightness is easily adjusted and the adhesive has stayed put, 5 months later all is still working amazingly!

Have four sets of these in the house and I think they are great. The general Tapo functionality (which I won’t review here) is very flexible and powerful (have a few other Tapo devices in the house).
What I like, particularly:
1) Choice of colours
2) Ease of installation: adhesion is great whilst at same time allows relocation, and plenty of wire length either side of manual switch to allow ideal placement of the switch and lights.
3) The manual switch is a handy function, eg makes it possible to use the product as a light in your bedroom instead of a bedside lamp.
4) Brightness is good, and is of course variable.
5) Away mode (good for home security).
6) Cutable.
7) Power efficiency
8) Consistency of brightness and colour between units.
9) Robustness and quality.
10) The effects. Fun for the kids, especially.
My one gripe:
The interface for setting the colour is shown in the picture in this review. It’s a terrible piece of design. It is almost impossible to set the same colour across all units. When dragging your finger to the desired spot, it isn’t possible to see exactly where on the circle the choice is placed (the CAPS letters change as you move your finger, so you get some feedback) but then lifting your finger changes the setting. Infuriating! It takes many attempts and many minutes in a trial-and-error fashion to nail it. There are two simple solutions to this that TP Link should implement:
1) make it possible to set the colour by typing into the CAPS letters field. In the picture you can see that I (after bl&&dy ages) managed to select FFFFFF (hexadecimal standard colour code for pure white) with the circle, but it would be MUCH easier to type in FFFFFF instead.
2) A manual selection of colour, like my choice of FFFFFF, should be saved in the app and usable for all the units in the house, but it isn’t. Each unit has to be set up individually, in terms of customised colours. Saved customised effects across units are possible, so saving colours should also be.

If you do not intend to split this strip it is fantastic and I would not hesitate in giving it 5 stars as everything is so simple and works exactly as it should.
Here is the 'but' - I needed to split it into segments to go behind a stained glass and therefore having continuity in colour is essential. I got two one metre strips working perfectly. When I added a third, the final third was pink and not white. I have contacted the manufacturer through the number that is given in Amazon and they requested a photo which I have sent. As yet I have not heard back but I will update this review when I hear from them. Perhaps mine is faulty and they will replace it in which case, assuming it works as expected, I would raise my rating to 5 stars. I then added another one metre hoping for the best. To my surprise, the 3rd link went white and the last link went pink like the previous one was. So it looks like the last link if a chain is a different colour to the remainder.
Don't get me wrong, they are very high quality and the app and Alexa link work perfectly (I have called it stained glass - see video).
To be continued when I hear from the manufacturer.
Update - The supplier was great. Sent a photo and a replacement was sent out. Not going to cut it just incase and will gently turn it at the changes of direction as it says you can.

I'm pleased with these LEDs, I already have tapo bulbs and sockets around the house so these were really easy to install onto the TV and set-up in the app...good range of colour. I think compared to others also a good price given I was looking for a brand I already use so I didn't need to install another app. Also integrated really well with our google home and Amazon Alexa devices
