What is a country format?

What is a ‘Country Format’ smartphone?
Many smartphone manufacturers adapt their products to meet the needs of a country or region. This means that the appearance and design of the physical product is similar or identical, but the software may be localised based on the language or technical configuration (e.g. it may start with a different language as the default). These products will contain a user manual and accessories (e.g. charger) based on the specific needs of that country or region.
Can I use these smartphones in the UK?
In most cases these smartphones will work with UK mobile networks, however we recommend that you check with your network or carrier before you buy it. There may also be features that are limited or not enabled for the UK, so we also recommend that you check with the manufacturer for any features that are not available in the UK. When you set up your smartphone, you will be presented with the option to select the language you want to use, or you can select a different language in settings afterwards. We bought this for my daughter in July, but did not give it to her until December when her birthday is. We panicked at first because it said UK version but it came set up in Portuguese with only a European plug. However everything works fine, set to English, the usb plug cable allows us to charge using any plug with a port, but we mostly charge wirelessly anyway, and her sim works just fine with it.
A great phone, with an amazing memory size. The camera is a big step up from her previous Samsung Galaxy S7, and she's spent a lot of time experimenting with it. Everything is easy and intuitive to use, and the battery life seems good for average use so far. Very happy with the purchase.

So far a truly awesome phone, the only down side I've found so far is the fingerprint sensor is quite hit and miss and takes a lot of faffing about.

This is a really good phone, despite the annoyances of Samsung software trying to do what Google software already does, but not nearly as well (and Samsung trying to monetise it around every corner).

Moving from a Galaxy Note 4 that was swiftly dying, the phone feels fast, alg-free and very, very modern. The fingerprint reader works well once you figure it out and remember to press the screen properly. Battery life should be better on a phone like this, but it gets me through most of the day.

Just as annoyingly, my purchase did not qualify for the Samsung wireless earbuds. I am not at all impressed with that.

Overall the phone is great and I do love it. However, the battery life on it is awful. I can charge it to 100% and when I unplug it, within five minutes it will have dropped already.
Would have given it more stars, if not for the battery.
