I have used this for a full week prior to writing my review.
I have always used a store own brand antiperspirant. I left it a day in between using my old deodorant and starting this.
The Monday morning, I showered, and put this on. It went on easily enough, but on the first application the “case” was a mess of the deodorant and its difficult to wipe off which I have to do after every application.
It worked perfectly during the day, and while I did sweat a bit there was no smell.
The second day when I showered in the morning, I noticed that no matter how much I lathered I still had residue of this from the day before.
I put on the deodorant as normal and went about my day. Later in the day I found armpit to fell rather full and dirty, but not smelly. At this point I realised that I must be putting too much on.
Wednesday, I calmed down a bit with my application, only putting on a few swipes on each arm, and this worked perfectly.
Don’t overload it, and it works well without discomfort.
By the end of each day, I have never had to re-apply and been smell free.
They have not marked my t-shirts any more than the regular spray I would use.
Apparently, the different sticks in the pack smell differently, but to me they all smelt the same. I can only assume that the smells blend when in storage. It’s a nice, neutral smell.
Overall, very happy with this deodorant, but the main question is cost of the refills which appear to be rather expensive, but I won’t let that affect my rating as that is individual to everyone’s circumstances, what appear to me to be expensive may appear good value to others.

How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

works well with some pleasant scents but quite expensive.
Comes in a plain gift box with 3 refills.I have always used ball deodorants and decided to try this stick one out and it works quite wellChanging the refill is easy enough and the applicator works well and this deodorant is effective and smells pretty nice. The price though is a bit of a deal breaker for me being £26 for essentially 3 deodorants at almost £9 each seems a bit excessively priced and no matter how much environmental sales pitching is going to sway me to see this as value for money.

There's a problem with calling a product 'Fussy' - it makes me want to be fussy about it rather than being 'not fussed', which is my standard approach.
Starting with the packaging, which is all cardboard and saving the planet (something we should all be on board with) and has a number of slogans plastered over it that make this product sound more 'needy' than 'fussy'.
Moving beyond the marketing (and accepting that sometimes things just are not targeted at me) there is a deodordant black stick and three refill packs. Everything is made of cardboard and recyclable except the stick holder, which is plastic. So the planet will be saved because I am reducing the plastic waste every time I use a refill.
Is Fussy deodorant, a deodorant? That's a good question. Firstly, this is not an antiperspirant because it doesn't stop sweating. And it's not really a deodorant because the perfume is very subtle indeed, barely noticeable in fact, so it doesn't mask the smell. The claimed mode of action is much like the probiotic approach of gut health, using good bacteria to out compete the bad bacteria that cause body odour. The instructions state that it is necessary to use the product for up to two weeks before it is fully effective and during this time you might smell a little 'funky'.
I haven't used it for that period yet. I am trying the citrus version first as it was the most appealing out of the box. Several days in and I can't smell anything unpleasant from my pits and I'm not sure if there's anything 'funky' going on.
However I do like the mode of action, I like the idea of naturally inhibiting the smelly bacteria and if it works long term, I will stick with it. If I was doing the marketing, promoting this message would be my first priority.

The scents are quite pleasant. The Mint is fresh but subtle, the Citrus has a unique aroma, and the Woody is reminiscent of a stroll through an evergreen forest. It's a bit of a departure from traditional deodorants, as it's not an antiperspirant, so it won't stop you from sweating. However, it does a good job of neutralising odour throughout the day.
The case is well-made and designed to last. The refills are easy to replace, though it can be a bit tricky to figure out which end is which initially. The flatter end is the cap, but it’s a subtle difference. The cap can also be a bit slippery if your hands are wet, which can be a minor inconvenience.
One downside is the price. At £26.00, it’s certainly more expensive than most conventional deodorants. However, the refills last between 4-8 weeks and are compostable, which is a significant eco-friendly benefit. If you’re willing to invest in a sustainable and natural option, it might be worth the price.
Overall, the Fussy deodorant provides a great blend of functionality and sustainability. It’s effective, smells good, and is eco-friendly. Just keep in mind that it’s not an antiperspirant, and there’s a bit of a learning curve with the packaging.
Pros:
- 🌿 High-quality, sustainable materials
- 🌱 Pleasant, natural scents
- 🔄 Easy-to-replace refills
- 🌍 Eco-friendly and compostable refills
Cons:
- 💸 Quite pricey compared to conventional deodorants
- 💧 Cap can be tricky to remove with wet hands
- 🤔 Not an antiperspirant, which might be a dealbreaker for some
In summary, Fussy's refillable deodorant is a great option if you’re looking for a natural, eco-friendly product. It’s a bit of an investment, but for the quality and sustainability, it might just be worth it.
