1 Year Review: Batteries expand and crack lens!
I bought these on 26th October 2021. It's 03 October 2022 now, so less than a year has passed. They've had light use (pun intended) - late night dog walks and night-time lorry vehicle checks are what I sometimes use mine for. I've never allowed the battery to go completely flat, stored them depleted or left them on charge long after the charging indicator has turned. They are very handy products and I do like them a lot; they're a much quicker-to-use and more comfortable alternative to a head torch, and they're sufficiently bright. However, both have had the lithium batteries expand, causing cracks to appear in the lens and gaps to form which could easily allow dust and moisture in. There's a lot of pressure inside that plastic case now, probably putting stress on the other components.So while the beanies are quite comfortable, make sure you're happy with the fact the lights might only last about a year ( I first noticed the problem was developing after 9 months). I'm not expecting too much longer out of mine. You can buy replacements of the lights only, although they're not much cheaper than a new beanie and light at the time of writing.
